Responsibilities

The position requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, good judgment, and the ability to interpret and apply regulatory or procedural requirements.
Essential Duties:
- Property Receiving, Evaluation & Documentation
- Receive and inspect incoming assets to ensure proper identification, tagging, and segregation.
- Review inventory or disposition documentation to identify and resolve discrepancies such as missing releases, incomplete records, or items requiring special handling.
- Evaluate items for proper classification and determine additional reporting requirements.
- Maintain accurate records in tracking systems or databases.
- Processing Incoming Property from Multiple Organizations
- Verify assets against transfer paperwork and ensure completeness of documentation.
- Tag, track, and route items through the appropriate processes.
- Identify special categories of property (e.g., high-risk, capital, or sensitive items) and ensure required reviews or approvals are completed.
- Coordinate with accounting, cybersecurity, or other functional groups when needed.
- Customer Support & Property Guidance
- Assist walk-in or scheduled customers in identifying and claiming reusable items.
- Process reuse requests, including approval routing, custodial transfers, and logistics coordination.
- Provide guidance on how to prepare items for excessing or how to complete required forms.
- Support staff, contractors, or partner organizations in understanding property disposition requirements.
- Donations & Property Transfers
- Assist with preparing and processing donation and transfer documentation.
- Coordinate logistics for screening events, pickups, and shipments.
- Ensure all transfers comply with applicable rules, documentation standards, and approval processes.
- Sales Support Activities
- Support online or in-person sales by responding to inquiries, preparing shipping or pick-up documentation, and coordinating payment and deposit processes.
- Maintain accurate records of sales outcomes and update internal tracking systems.
- Storage & Hold-For-Future-Use Program Support
- Receive, label, and inventory items stored for future projects.
- Maintain orderly and accurate storage records.
- Coordinate deliveries, pickups, and customer access to stored property.
Qualifications
- Experience in Personal Property Management.
- Expertise with MS Office applications.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Valid driver's license required.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Accuracy in data entry and documentation.
- Ability to interpret procedures or regulatory requirements.
- Professional communication and customer service.
- Problem-solving and decision-making.
- Ability to work safely around varied equipment and materials.
- Basic technical understanding of common asset types (e.g., IT equipment, tools, lab equipment).
- Comfort working in warehouse, shop, or field environments.
Education and Experience:
- A.S. degree or higher.
- Knowledge of Government Property and SAP experience highly preferred.
Special Requirements:
- Pre-employment Drug Screen - External applicants selected for this position are required to successfully complete a post-offer, pre-employment drug test.
- Medical Exam(s) - Job related pre-placement medical examinations may be required for this position.
- This position may require the ability to obtain and maintain a clearance from the Department of Energy. If determined as such, this position would be identified as a Workplace Substance Abuse (WSAP) testing designated position. WSAP positions require participation in an ongoing random drug testing program in addition to the pre-employment drug screen.
