The Senior COMSEC Custodian will lead the COMSEC Technical Management Support team. In this role, the Senior COMSEC Custodian will ensure the materials are properly received, hand-receipted and transferred. Additionally, the Senior COMSEC Custodian will acquire and issue materials to program personnel. This individual will also conduct inventories per agency policy and report any discrepancy to government customer. As the Senior COMSEC Custodian, this individual will perform Key Management Infrastructure (KMI) duties, including distribution, inventory, and destruction of keys and equipment, in accordance with regulations and requirements.

Responsibilities:
  • Reviews documentation, policy, and technical support while coordinating overall management of agreements and understandings between US Government and internal/external entities
  • Oversee KMI account responsibilities
  • Conduct secure equipment and classified keying material inventories, inspections and other Communications Security (COMSEC) related support and oversight functions
  • Perform installation coordinate to deliver encryption device(s) and keying material to select Information Technology (IT) specialist maintaining classified networks
  • Maintain records and accountability of COMSEC materials program wide
  • Ensure COMSEC materials are properly received, stored, hand-receipted, and transferred
  • Acquire and issue materials to program personnel
  • Conduct inventories per agency policy and report any discrepancy to government customer
  • Courier classified information and authors receipt for classified materials
  • Enforce compliance with United States Government (USG) COMSEC standards by team members by providing security education and training on operating procedures
  • Ensure Automated Information Systems Security requirements related to COMSEC duties, are complying
  • Train personnel in COMSEC procedures and the use of related equipment

Required Qualifications/Education and Experience:
  • Minimum of 5-7-years' experience in maintaining accountability and control of COMSEC or Cryptographic Controlled Items (CCI)
  • Must have a TS/SCI clearance
  • Experience in the processing of received material, hand receipting of material, and destroying superseded material utilizing Destruction Certificates (5941 EK), Key Variable Management (KVM) worksheets, and LMD/KP, KMI-MGC and/or other devices such as AN/CYZ-10 (DTD), KIK-20 (SDS), and AN/PYQ-10 (SKL)
  • Training certification for Standardized COMSEC Custodian Course (SCCC)
  • Training certification for Local COMSEC Management Software
  • Training Certification for Key Management Infrastructure (KMI) Management Client (MGC
  • Standardized COMSEC Custodian Course (SCCC)
  • Local COMSEC Management Software (LCMS) completion
