Position Overview
Venatore is seeking a Tier 1 GCCS-J Systems Administrator to support CENTCOM under CITS at MacDill AFB. Venatore is seeking a Tier 1 GCCS-J Systems Administrator to support CENTCOM under CITS at MacDill AFB. This role provides daily operational support to the GCCS-J environment, including COP services, Agile Client, and Linux/UNIX infrastructure. Candidates must have prior GCCS-J experience and Linux/UNIX administration experience.
Responsibilities
GCCS-J / COP Operations
- Provide Tier 1 support for GCCS-J components including COP servers and Agile Client.
- Perform daily system checks, verify data feeds, review logs, and monitor system health.
- Troubleshoot user and system issues and escalate to higher tiers when needed.
- Support configuration activities and system updates under senior oversight.
Linux / UNIX Systems Support
- Perform routine Linux/UNIX administration tasks required for GCCS-J operations.
- Navigate directories, review logs, manage processes, and perform CLI administration.
- Support system baseline upkeep and configuration management.
- Assist with virtualization environments such as VMware.
User & Access Support
- Assist with user account and permission issues.
- Validate and troubleshoot access problems related to security groups.
- Support users with workstation-level connectivity and GCCS-J client issues.
Troubleshooting & Remote Support
- Provide Tier 1 workstation and network troubleshooting.
- Guide users through identifying system information during remote support.
- Create, track, and resolve issues through ticketing systems.
Maintenance & O&M
- Assist with scheduled maintenance activities and system checks.
- Support backup verification and restoration tasks.
- Maintain SOPs, checklists, and documentation.
- Support on-call or shift duties during exercises or COOP operations.
Cybersecurity & Compliance
- Support IA requirements including patching, remediation tasks, STIG checks, and scan review.
- Follow DoD cybersecurity policies and security requirements.
Required Qualifications
- Active TS/SCI
- Hands-on GCCS-J experience
- Linux or UNIX administration experience
- 3+ years of system administration experience
- Experience with account/permissions management, troubleshooting, VMware, and ticketing systems
- Strong communication skills
Required Certification
- Security+ CE (IAT II)
Preferred
- Experience with Satellite, Ansible Tower, GitLab
- Oracle/PostgreSQL
- JBoss/Tomcat
- Prior CENTCOM/C2 environment experience
- Familiarity with STIGs, RMF, IA
Additional Requirements
- Travel up to 15% OCONUS for exercises and COOP
