ASRC Federal's Summer Technology Readiness Intern Development Experience (STRIDE) offers undergraduate college students the chance to apply their technological interests and knowledge to exciting real-world missions.
We are seeking a Software Developer Internto support our government customer in Moorestown, NJ. This role is a temporary, onsite position.
Work location: Onsite in an office setting located in Moorestown, NJ. Local intern candidates preferred.Relocation assistance, housing, or stipends are not provided.
Security: Must be a US Citizen to obtain a Secret clearance and successfully complete a government issued background investigation to access to customer site ( must have lived continuously in the continental United States for the past three years).
Program dates: 10-week summer internship, June 1 - August 6, 2026
Hours: 32 hours per week
Summary: This opportunity supports the development of mission critical software systems for the United States Navy. You will be working with teams of experts in the system to gain experience in the Defense field supporting the design, development and test of various software applications using Agile and DevSecOps processes and tools. In this team-oriented environment, you will also be equipped with a mentor to educate you on the day-to-day.

Education:
- Currently enrolled in a bachelor's program in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, Computer Engineering, Systems Engineering, or similar field.
- Must be a current junior, senior or graduate student in college at the time of application.
Requirements:
- Basic knowledge of UNIX-like Operating Systems (i.e., Linux, Solaris, IRIX) and operating system administration (i.e., Red Hat Enterprise / CentOS Linux)
- Coursework in areas including software development, object-oriented analysis and design, Python, Java, C/C++
- Desire to work in the field of "software engineering" with a variety of programming languages such as Python, Java, C/C++ (Linux and Windows OS)
- Experience working in a team environment
- Good written and spoken communication including developing technical documentation
- Knowledge of Agile methodologies such as scrum, user stories, sprints, etc.
Desired Qualifications:
- Experience with publish/subscribe architectures such as DDS; CI/CD/DevSecOps tools such as Jenkins.
- Agile systems and/or bug tracking systems such as Atlassian Jira.
- Data analysis skills
- Basic understanding of requirements tracking systems such as DOORS, Confluence, etc.
- Experience in cyber security and/or systems/software integration.
- General understanding of the Aegis Weapon System, its related systems, other real-time mission critical systems, or other weapons systems are pluses.
