ASRC Federal's Summer Technology Readiness Intern Development Experience (STRIDE) offers undergraduate college students the chance to apply their technological interests and knowledge to exciting real-world missions.
We are seeking a Cyber Security Intern to support our government customer at Hanscom Airforce Base in Massachusetts . This role is a temporary, onsite position.
Work location : Onsite in an office setting located on Hanscom Airforce Base in Massachusetts . Local intern candidates preferred. Relocation assistance , housing, or stipends are not provided.
Security: Must be a US Citizen to obtain a Secret clearance and successfully complete a government issued background investigation to access to customer site ( m ust have lived continuously in the continental United States for the past three years ) .
Program dates: 10-week summer internship, June 1 - August 6, 2026
Hours: 32 hours per week
Summary : Working with our team at Hanscom Airforce Base will provide hands-on experience in ITF and ACAS which are part of core vulnerability management functions in the federal space . This opportunity will also provide you with exposure to RMF compliance , security audits, and continuous monitoring activities .

Education :
- Currently enrolled in a bachelor's program in Computer Science , Cyber Security , Information Security or other related field s .
- Must be a current junior, senior or graduate student in college at the time of application.
Key Responsibilities :
- Assist with ACAS vulnerability scanning including configuring scans, valida ting resul ts, and documenting findings.
- Review, analyze, and categorize vulnerability data to support compliance with Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs) and federal security controls.
- Support ITF and cybersecurity personnel with continuous monitoring activities, including log review, anomaly identification, and incident triage.
- Help maintain system security documentation , including POA&Ms, scan reports, checklists, and mitigation plans.
- Assist with patch and configuration compliance checks to ensure systems meet cybersecurity standards .
- Contribute to the development of weekly/monthly cybersecurity reports , dashboards, and metrics used for internal federal compliance reviews.
- Conduct research on emerging cyber threats and federal security mandates .
- Collaborate with ITF staff on routine audits, system inventories, and verification of device compliance status.
Basic Qualifications :
- Basic understanding of federal cybersecurity frameworks (e.g., RMF, NIST , etc. ).
- Familiarity with network fundamentals, Windows/Linux OS , and cybersecurity concepts.
- Ability to interpret vulnerability scan outputs and security findings.
- Strong communication , documentation, and technical problem-solving skills.
- Exposure to Nessus, Tenable, SIEM platforms or other compliance tools.
- Experience in scripting language to help with automation
