Position Summary:
NSWCDD seeks a highly skilled Windows Systems Administrator to provide comprehensive IT support and systems administration services for classified and unclassified networks. The selected candidate will support the full lifecycle of IT operations, including system maintenance, security, troubleshooting, and IT service delivery in alignment with ITIL®, DoD Enterprise Service Management Framework (DESMF), DevSecOps, and agile methodologies. This role is critical to supporting NSWCDD’s mission of delivering advanced warfare systems and maintaining a modern, resilient, and secure IT infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities:
• Administer, develop, implement, and maintain Windows operating systems and related software on classified and unclassified networks.
• Establish and enforce standards for computer operations to ensure compatibility between hardware and software.
• Troubleshoot and resolve software, operating system, and networking issues.
• Perform and monitor system backups, and execute data recovery as required.
• Maintain proficiency and manage major network security tools, including firewalls, anti-virus, and intrusion detection systems.
• Support IT asset lifecycle management, including installation, configuration, upgrades, and security of hardware, operating systems, and COTS software.
• Provide end-user support and training on software applications and IT procedures.
• Develop system specifications, perform market research for procurement, and assist in IT project execution.
• Support IT Service Management (ITSM), digital transformation, and enterprise application administration.
• Ensure compliance with Cyber Workforce (CWF) directives and industry best practices.
Required Qualifications:
• Experience: Minimum of 3 years of professional experience in Windows systems administration, including system backup/recovery, security management, hardware/software troubleshooting, and network administration.
• Technical Expertise: Proficiency in Windows operating systems and related software applications; Knowledge of network protocols (TCP/IP) and computing/network vulnerabilities; Familiarity with enterprise IT security tools and practices; Experience in IT service management frameworks, DevSecOps, and agile development practices.
• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Electrical/Electronic/Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
• Certifications: Compliance with Cyber Workforce (CWF) directives; relevant IAT II certifications preferred.
• Security Clearance: TS/SCI with T5 investigation required.
