Overview:
We are seeking a Senior Platform Engineer – Linux to join an agile product team supporting the design, deployment, and modernization of Linux-based infrastructure. This role includes work with traditional on-premises compute, network, and storage systems, as well as emerging DevOps and modern infrastructure technologies. The Senior Platform Engineer will participate in system updates and upgrades, focusing on Linux server and OS capabilities, and will collaborate with program leadership and customer stakeholders during technical meetings as required.
Key Responsibilities:
• Develop, document, and communicate infrastructure implementation plans using established company and industry best practices.
• Maintain and support existing systems through Linux-based tools, including management of the commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) software stack.
• Assist with integration and administration of platform provisioning tools (e.g., VMware).
• Ensure consistent COTS stack versioning and support platform updates as needed.
• Support traditional compute, network, and storage deployments as well as modernization initiatives.
• Travel to customer sites, when required, to support system updates, deliveries, and implementation activities.
This is a 12 month with possible extension opportunity.
Clearance Required: Active TS/SCI w/ CI POLY
Required Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in a STEM field (Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, Physics, or related discipline) and 5+ years of relevant experience; equivalent experience may be considered where applicable.
• Experience with Agile development methodologies (e.g., Scrum, SAFe).
• Experience with VMware.
• Proficiency in at least one programming or scripting language (e.g., Python, Java, Ruby, Bash, C++, C#, Go).
Preferred Qualifications
• Experience with Linux LDAP for account management, roles, and permissions.
• Experience with Linux Bash scripting, including automation and maintenance of existing scripts.
• Familiarity with modernization tools and technologies such as Chef, Ansible, Kubernetes, Docker, Rancher, etc.
• Experience with system hardening.
• Experience with AWS technologies.
• Experience with Cisco IOS, fiber-optic switch environments, or Cisco server hardware and firewall implementations.
• Current Security+ certification or ability to obtain within 90 days of onboarding.
Pay Rate:- $75/hr.-$90/hr.
