Raytheon's Electro-Optical Infrared Systems (EOIRS) business unit is seeking an Associate Director, Business Development - Advanced EOIR Systems (AES) to lead capture, business strategy and growth in a high demand market space.

As a member of the Advanced Products and Solutions (APS) team, the Associate Director will be responsible for the growth of advanced mission systems related to 5th generation+ aircraft and/or advanced unmanned and collaborative aircraft systems, provide leadership by driving end-to-end customer relationships, and develop forward looking strategies to influence program direction and investment targets.

What You Will Do
  • Pipeline development:
    • Leverage expertise in 5th/6th generation air dominance warfighting capabilities to build a robust pipeline, increasing the quality and quantity of Raytheon opportunities to drive top line growth
    • Identify and develop new business growth opportunities through customer engagement and collaboration across the business units
    • Formulate and lead competitive strategies to win pursuits: understand strategic environments, in particular, competitor strengths, weaknesses and market position
  • Customer engagement:
    • Develop coordinated internal and external customer engagement plans
    • Execute competitor intelligence gathering efforts to help Raytheon businesses better understand and counter competitor actions
    • Focus on the customer, understand their environment, threat capabilities, problems, priorities, limitations, and requirements
  • Develop New Business Investment (NBI) budgets:
    • Influence future IRAD investments based on strategy for winning emerging programs
    • Identify the critical investments needed through Raytheon processes to create competitive differentiators
  • Approximately 50% annual travel
  • Possible Work Locations: TX - McKinney, VA - Arlington, AZ - Tucson or MA - Andover


Qualifications You Must Have
  • Typically requires a University Degree and minimum of 12 years' experience working with DoD or Aviation industries, or an Advanced Degree and 10 years' experience
  • Minimum of 8 years' experience in business development, program management, government relations with DoD services, Defense Agency acquisition and/or requirements generation
  • Former US Military Officer with operational experience in mission planning, training, and employment tactics of 5th generation fighter aircraft and weapons systems
  • Experience with defense acquisitions or requirement resourcing and development process


Qualifications We Prefer
  • Experience with US Government Planning, Programming, Budget and/or Execution (PPBE) process
  • Ability to identify potential Raytheon growth opportunities and proven ability to develop effective professional relationships through personal influence
  • Ability to effectively translate voice-of-the-warfighter inputs into strategic discriminators
  • Previous operational experience in any tactical strike fighter or ISR&T platform

The salary range for this role is 147,000 USD - 295,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate's work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.

Specific benefits are dependent upon the specific business unit as well as whether or not the position is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement.

Hired applicants may be eligible for annual short-term and/or long-term incentive compensation programs depending on the level of the position and whether or not it is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement. Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company's performance.

This role is a U.S.-based role. If the successful candidate resides in a U.S. territory, the appropriate pay structure and benefits will apply.
