JOB SUMMARY: The applicant will plan and execute wargames for United States Space Force (USSF), Space Training and Readiness Command (STARCOM), Delta 10 OL-B, including the USSF Title 10 Schriever Wargame series, as a member of the Delta 10 OL-B Wargaming Team. The Schriever Wargame series provides an opportunity to investigate the issues and implications of combined space and cyberspace operations within an all-domain conflict. Delta 10 OL-B Wargaming includes doctrine, educational, coalition, and other types of wargaming, as well as wargame training. The applicant will provide classified wargaming subject matter expertise for Delta 10 OL-B Wargaming and other supported wargames, exercises, and events. Location: Schriever SFB, CO.
PRIMARY DUTIES:
Assists with planning and wargame design, scenario development, adjudication, assessment, facilitation, and control for classified play during Delta 10 OL-B Wargaming events and supported events (e.g., HAF Global Engagement and Futures wargames, NRO’s Thor’s Hammer wargame, etc.)
Assists with the design and execution of planning workshops, conferences, seminars, capstones, and other events
Coordinates, designs, and develops wargame scenarios, orders of battle and toolkits, other wargame documents as needed, and analysis and assessment of approaches
Participates in Title 10/50 events to coordinate Delta 10 OL-B Wargaming design features. The intent of this support is modular space input to Title 10 Wargames
Supports senior leadership briefings (e.g., USSF/CSO, CSAF, Combatant Command Commanders), integrated Government team meetings (integrated product teams and strategy sessions), training sessions, Senior Advisor meetings, and other Delta 10 OL-B Wargaming events
Provides data collection and input to the analysis plan to collect and generate conference, seminar, workshop, and capstone insights and observations for inclusion in reports and briefings, and to integrate into overall Delta 10 OL-B Wargaming planning
Facilitates work groups during events; identifies appropriate subject matter experts for events in cooperation with the team and the Government; ensures each cell has the necessary materials and information to support their portion of game play; supports the resolution of equipment and procedural shortfalls; provides an “attack plan” for how their cell will meet wargame objectives; assesses their group’s actions, and assists in the overall assessment of each event, to include recommendations for future activities
Provides deliverables identified in the contract for Delta 10 OL-B Wargaming and supported events as requested by the Government
Assists in the preparation and execution of all wargame events; drafts objectives, insights, and observations; assists in the creation and presentation of various forms of feedback from the wargame, including out briefs, Quick-look Reports, final reports, and Roadshow briefings for delivery to a variety of audiences at various classification levels
Carries out other tasks that may be required in order to ensure STARCOM Wargaming mission success
Travel: 10 to 12 weeks per year
REQUIREMENTS:
Previous experience designing, planning, preparing, executing, and/or evaluating United States Space Force (USSF) space capabilities in Service, Joint Chiefs of Staff (JCS), or Combatant Command (CCMD) wargames or exercises
Excellent writing and communication skills with the ability to focus on building customer relationships
Possess strong leadership, negotiation, time management, organization, problem-solving, risk analysis, and team-building skills
Aptitude to gather diverse and sometimes opposing stakeholders to work collaboratively to solve complex problems across multiple agencies internal and external to USSF
Proven ability to meet strict deadlines, prioritize work, and manage multiple assignments simultaneously without supervision
Proven ability to lead large teams in a collaborative, multi-project environment
Ability to work in stressful and high-pressure situations
Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (e.g., Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Access, and Outlook)
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Experience with, or knowledge of, space law and policy
Experience with, or knowledge of, commercial and civil space
Have a solid understanding of Service and Joint space mission areas, command and control constructs, and knowledge of current space policy and doctrine
Previous experience participating in a Schriever Wargame event or other Title 10 wargame
Master’s degree from an accredited institution
Current or previous experience working in an operational Space squadron, Space Delta, the National Space Defense Center (NSDC), the Combined Space Operations Center (CSpOC), or the Space Security & Defense Program (SSDP)
RELEVANT EXPERIENCE: 10 years of combined experience in the following areas:
developing, planning, and executing wargames
developing, planning, and executing exercises
a background in the space, intelligence, or cyberspace operations
current or previous experience working on a headquarters staff
EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION: Bachelor's Degree from an accredited institution.
SECURITY CLEARANCE: Top Secret/SCI. Previous Special Access Programs (SAP) clearances desired.
