Summary:
The Material Handler I provides general support for warehouse and medical materiel operations under the ECMM contract. This entry-level role assists in receiving, storing, issuing, and preparing medical supplies and equipment while maintaining proper documentation and ensuring compliance with safety and inventory procedures. The Material Handler I works under the supervision of senior Material Handlers or Medical Materiel Specialists.

The Material Handler I works under the supervision of senior Material Handlers or Medical Materiel Specialists.
Responsibilities
Essential Job Functions:
- Receive, inspect, and store medical materiel, supplies, and equipment according to DoD, Air Force, and ECMM contract requirements.
- Assist in the preparation and assembly of medical kits, containers, and cargo for deployment or internal distribution.
- Operate warehouse equipment, such as pallet jacks, hand trucks, and carts, safely under supervision.
- Maintain accurate inventory records and assist in updating DoD MMIS/DMLSS or other tracking systems.
- Follow established procedures for handling controlled, sensitive, or temperature-regulated medical items.
- Support shipping, receiving, and documentation processes to ensure proper accountability.
- Keep warehouse areas organized, clean, and compliant with safety standards.
- Report discrepancies, damaged items, or supply chain issues to supervisors.
- Assist higher-level Material Handlers or Medical Materiel Specialists as needed to meet operational requirements.
- May perform other duties as needed.
Qualifications
Necessary Skills and Knowledge:
- Basic understanding of warehouse operations, inventory management, and logistics support.
- Ability to follow detailed instructions and standard operating procedures.
- Attention to detail and accuracy in handling materials and updating records.
- Basic computer skills for entering data into inventory management systems.
- Ability to operate warehouse equipment safely under supervision.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
- Strong organizational skills and adherence to safety protocols.
Minimum Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- 0-2 years of experience in warehouse, logistics, or materials handling operations.
- Prior experience handling medical supplies or working in a healthcare support environment is preferred but not required.
- Must be a US citizen.
- Clearance: public trust with the ability to obtain secret.
