Job Title: Work Control Planner
Duration: Through 12/31/2026 (with possibility of extension)
Location: New Mexico – Hybrid schedule (2 days per week onsite)
Short Summary about Job:
The Asset Management Programs (AMPs) are a multidisciplinary group providing services with a design-build model. This model works in three phases: Assessment, Design, and Construction/Repair/Replacement of major building systems common across the enterprise (e.g., roofs, electrical, cooling & heating). The AMP group uses Integrated Work Management to plan, schedule, and perform work in a safe and secure manner. The Work Control Planner 2 will support three program leads and be responsible for developing and/or reviewing work packages (IWDs) including time, material, and labor estimates, written step-by-step work instructions, procedures, safety and testing requirements for maintenance, construction, or modification of work activities. Specific planning duties may be related to mechanical, electrical, or roofing equipment, policies, and procedures. This role may also include resolving work restraints and bringing work packages to final closure. The position requires participation in safety walks, identification of safety issues, planning work, and project oversight. Field work includes construction site walk-downs and roof assessments.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree and a minimum of 8 years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience (8+ years preferred)
Strong background in project planning and construction, specifically with labor estimates and technical step writing
Ability to obtain Q-Clearance (active Q-Clearance or previously held Q-Clearance within past 2 years strongly preferred)
Must be local or within 2 hours of the work site
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
Ability to work flexible schedule including occasional weekend work as project needs dictate
Valid driver's license
Preferred Qualifications:
Planning experience with technical step writing
Construction experience in facility infrastructure projects
Experience with roofing, electrical, or HVAC systems
Knowledge of Integrated Work Management processes
Experience working with DOE or similar regulated environments
Physical Requirements:
This position requires the ability to climb ladders, work on roofs, walk various terrains, and perform walk-downs on construction sites. Must be comfortable working in outdoor environments and construction settings.
Miscellaneous/Additional Information:
This is a full-time position with a 9/80 work schedule (subject to change based on project needs). Occasional overtime may be required depending on project timelines and weather-related delays. Government vehicles are available during project execution. Relocation assistance may be considered for exceptional candidates.
