Job Description

SALARY RANGE $162,000 - $219,000/year

DUTIES As a successful candidate for the Systems Engineer II role, you will analyze user requirements, concept of operations documents, and high-level system architectures to develop system requirements specifications. Analyze system requirements and lead design and development activities. Guide users in formulating requirements, advise alternative approaches, and conduct feasibility studies. Provide technical leadership for the integration of requirements, design, and technology. Incorporates new plans, designs, and systems into ongoing operations. Develop technical documentation. Develop system Architecture and system design documentation. Guide system development and implementation planning through assessment or preparation of system engineering management plans and system integration and test plans. Interact with the Government regarding Systems Engineering technical considerations and associated problems, issues, or conflicts. Ultimate responsibility for the technical integrity of work performed and deliverables associated with the Systems Engineering area of responsibility. Communicate with other program personnel, government overseers, and senior executives.

• Manage and allocate system and derived requirements to ensure alignment with system architecture (e.g., DoDAF, SOA)

• Develop and review systems engineering documentation, including System Engineering Plans, Requirements Specifications, Interface Control Documents, and Capabilities Documents

• Define, derive, and validate system and lower-level component requirements, ensuring traceability, completeness, and testability

• Participate in and support Integrated Product Teams, Configuration Control Boards, and cross-disciplinary coordination throughout the lifecycle

• Design and implement system architecture solutions, alternative concepts, interface definitions, and SOA implementations

• Support system integration activities, interface control, and risk management across development, deployment, and operations

• Contribute to test planning, evaluation criteria, and verification strategies early in the lifecycle

• Perform functional and quantitative analysis across performance areas (e.g., reliability, maintainability, survivability)

• Provide direction for the development and integration of hardware/software systems, including requirements elicitation and end-to-end flow analysis

• Maintain technical integrity of the system baseline, manage changes, and ensure consistency across stakeholders

• Support Information Assurance through the development of derived IA requirements and the incorporation of security mechanisms

• Assist in JCIDS documentation development and certification/accreditation processes (e.g., DoD C&A)

• Develop operational concepts, system scenarios, and timeline analysis to support capability delivery and system effectiveness

QUALIFICATIONS Fourteen (14) years of experience as an SE in programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity is required. A bachelor's degree in Systems Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering Science, Engineering Management, or a related discipline from an accredited college or university is required. Five (5) years of additional SE experience may be substituted for a bachelor's degree.
