What you'll be doing:
- Proactively search for indicators of compromise and malicious activity.
- Develop and execute threat hunting strategies across multiple data sources.
- Analyze network traffic, logs and telemetry to identify suspicious behavior.
- Investigate and respond to security incidents.
- Apply advanced knowledge of network protocols and security tools during threat analysis.
- Use scripting or programming to automate hunting tasks and enhance detection capabilities.
- Document findings and communicate results to security stakeholders.
What you need to know:
- Strong understanding of network protocols and common attack techniques.
- Knowledge of threat hunting methodologies, frameworks and adversary behaviors.
- Experience using security tools, telemetry sources and analytical techniques.
- Ability to interpret logs, alerts and network traffic to identify threat patterns.
- Strong scripting or programming skills to support automation and analysis.
Must have's:
- Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering or a related field.
- 7+ years of relevant experience.
- Proven ability to analyze complex requirements and translate them into clear, actionable tasks and processes through critical thinking.
- Applicants must hold and maintain an active DOE Q or equivalent DoD Top Secret clearance.
