ASRC Federal is seeking a Senior Network Engineer to develop, implement, and maintain enterprise-wide LAN/WLAN standards for the Defense Health Agency (DHA). This role supports a multivendor environment, leads advanced engineering and automation initiatives, and mentors early-career engineers to ensure optimal network performance and reliability.

ASRC Federal is seeking a Senior Network Engineer to develop, implement, and maintain enterprise-wide LAN/WLAN standards for the Defense Health Agency (DHA). This role supports a multivendor environment, leads advanced engineering and automation initiatives, and mentors early-career engineers to ensure optimal network performance and reliability.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, document, and maintain DHA LAN/WLAN standards and baseline configurations.
- Normalize and optimize network performance across multivendor platforms.
- Support LAN technologies from Cisco, Juniper, Ruckus/CommScope, and Extreme, and WLAN components from Cisco and Aruba.
- Collaborate with sustainment, deployment, and NETDEVOPS teams to automate standards, normalization, and optimization tasks.
- Deliver engineering solution packages to enhance enterprise architecture, system reliability, and component performance.
- Diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve complex network issues and restore services during outages.
- Work with stakeholders to integrate automation and improve service delivery.
- Mentor junior engineers and promote best practices across engineering teams.
- Manage deployment, monitoring, and troubleshooting tools, including Micro Focus Network Automation, CheckMK, SolarWinds Orion, Python, PowerShell, Git, ENMS.io, and related technologies.
- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience.
- Minimum 5+ years of relevant network engineering experience (degree substitutions allowed).
- CCNA or equivalent vendor certification required.
- Active Secret clearance or ability to obtain one (U.S. citizenship required).
- Strong switching experience.
- Brocade/Ruckus experience strongly desired.
- Experience with automation tools such as SolarWinds, eNMS, or MFNA (NCCM) is a plus.
- Extensive knowledge of data management, configuration management, and orchestration best practices preferred.
- Extensive knowledge of Ruckus, Cisco, or Juniper network environments.
- CompTIA Security+ required (must be obtained within 30 days of hire).
- Experience working in an MSP environment.
- Knowledge of VMware, Proxmox, Cisco UCS servers, Office, and SolarWinds.
- Familiarity with RMF processes, system accreditation, and DHA Approved Product List (APL) requirements.
