Senior Cybersecurity Specialist

Zachary Piper Solutions is seeking a seasoned cybersecurity professional to lead efforts in securing complex IT and operational environments for a federal client of ours out of Ft. Belvoir, VA. The Cyber Security Specialist will manage vulnerability assessments, system hardening, and risk mitigation strategies across on-premises, cloud, and hybrid infrastructures.

Responsibilities of the Cyber Security Specialist:

· Architect and deploy secure solutions for servers, networks, and virtualized environments

· Implement security controls aligned with NIST and other regulatory frameworks

· Automate system configurations and compliance processes using scripting and orchestration tools

· Conduct vulnerability scans, patch management, and remediation activities to maintain system integrity

· Support secure cloud deployments and integration with identity and access management solutions

· Develop technical documentation for compliance audits and risk management processes

Qualifications of the Cyber Security Specialist:

· 7+ years of professional experience working in mission-critical environments

· Extensive experience in cybersecurity engineering and system administration

· Strong knowledge of security frameworks, compliance standards, and risk management methodologies

· Proficiency in automation tools, scripting languages, and cloud security platforms

· Experience supporting Azure and AWS deployments including use of automated deployment tools (EntraID, Azure Local, Azure Arc, etc.)

· IAT Level II certified required

· Certifications: CISSP, CISM, CASP+, CSSP, CEH are highly preferred

· Bachelor's degree with 7 years of experience OR Master's degree with 5+ years of experience OR Associate's degree with 10+ years of experience (HS Diploma with 12+ years of experience)

· Ability to travel OCONUS and CONUS (25-30%)

· Must have an ACTIVE TS/SCI with Polygraph (Required)

Compensation for the Cyber Security Specialist includes:

· Salary Range: Between $140,000 - $170,000 based on years of relevant experience
