Job Description: Provide audit readiness support through transaction analysis, accounting process analysis and remediation, and financial accountability support to the Marine Corps Logistics Command working capital fund accounts (SMAG and DMAG).
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform financial data analytics, account reconciliations, and root cause analysis for discrepancies
- Conduct financial statement analysis and causative research; formulate/execute remediation strategies to address discrepancies
- Develop and monitor financial management key performance indicators for the purpose of identifying and remediating financial management issues and gaps
- Develop policy, training and procedural remedies and corrective actions where required in response to identified discrepancies and process gaps; provide related coaching and training
- Provide audit readiness support through internal controls assessments
- Serve as subject matter expert for Marine Corps working capital fund audit requirements
- Support working capital fund audit response for internal and external testing efforts
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree (or higher) in a business, finance, and/or accounting field of study
- Minimum of 15 years' experience in finance/accounting occupations
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a focus on military finance
Desired Qualifications:
- Knowledge of general and governmental accounting principles and standards
- Capability to perform financial statement analysis and financial data analytics
- Demonstrated knowledge of working capital fund accounting operations, policies and procedures
- Understanding of DoD/Navy/Marine Corps financial policies and interdependencies with information systems
- Demonstrated knowledge of Navy ERP and Advana
- Experience working within the federal government accounting environment
- Knowledge of risk management and internal controls
- Capability to effectively interpret federal audit standards in support of internal and external assessments, conduct root cause analysis, and develop corrective actions required to address findings
Security Clearance:
- Active DoD Secret security clearance required.
