Apogee is pleased to announce an exciting opportunity for a Commander's Support Staff Administrator. In this role, you will provide critical administrative and manpower support to the 15th Air Force Headquarters staff. The position involves advising 15 AF/A1 on military and civilian manpower requirements, organizational structure, position authorizations and utilization, workforce composition, and skill balance. You will also review and monitor all projected authorization movements. Ultimately, this role serves as a key advisor and direct support to the 15 AF/A1 Director, ensuring the effective management and execution of all administrative support program functions.

This is a full-time on-site position located at Shaw AFB in Sumter, South Carolina.

Responsibilities

  • Directly assist the 15 AF/A1 director in the management of all administrative support program functions.
    Serve as the 15 AF/A1 lead or assists the 15 AF/A1 principal responsible for programs to include but not limited to task management, cybersecurity liaison (CL), Government Travel Card (GTC) program, Defense Travel System (DTS) administrator, drug demand reduction (DDR) program, health care program, fitness program, Government Purchase Card (GPC) program, safety program, Automated Data Processing Equipment (ADPE) accounts, security program, supply program, civilian timecard, Weighted Airman Promotion (WAPS) testing, Special Duty Assignment Pay (SDAP), unit evaluations, and unit recognition program.
  • Serve as the 15 AF/A1 lead or assists the primary point of contact in the 15 AF/A1 for all newly assigned personnel; manages the sponsorship and Newcomer programs, orients newcomers regarding the basic functions of the organization, introduces them to key personnel, schedules their initial training/orientation requirements, updates systems and rosters with necessary contact and duty information.
  • Provide advice and guidance to 15 AF/A1 in the organization on administrative, clerical, and procedural requirements. Assist in locating and selecting the appropriate guidelines, references, and procedures for application to specific cases.
  • Provide guidance to 15 AF/A1 relating to military and civilian manpower requirements, organizational structure, authorization and utilization of positions, military-civilian mix, skills imbalance. Review all projected movements of authorizations.
  • Monitor and make necessary system updates through Military Personnel Data System (MILPDS) for military personnel action requests, personnel accountability, manpower, and training transactions as documentation flows through the office and provides status reports to 15 AF/A1. Monitor preparation of performance reports, decorations and awards, reviews for accuracy and consistency with available guidelines, ensure timely submission, and updates systems as necessary.
  • Provide assistance in tracking program status and maintaining program health. Identify and respond to trends of programs and assists in having them operating at or above satisfactory levels.
  • Has expert-level knowledge Military Personnel Data System (MilPDS); myFSS, myEval, myFitness, LeaveWeb, Assignment Management System (AMS), and Personnel Records Display Application (PRDA).


Qualifications

Minimum Experience:

Citizenship: Must be a US citizen
Clearance: Must have and be able to maintain a Secret level clearance
Education: Associate's Degree
Years of Experience: 3 years of Command Staff Support experience; Minimum of 1 year of staff experience performing within a higher headquarters level staff (Major Command, Combatant Command)
Additional Experience:
  • Possess experience in military personnel and military administration, to include exposure to and understanding of the objectives and policies governing military personnel operations.
  • Must have knowledge and experience with Microsoft Office and Knowledge of various other Air Force office automation software programs, tools, and techniques to support office operations and produce a variety of documents such as letters, reports, spreadsheets, databases, and graphs.

Education: Bachelor's Degree

Years of Experience: 5 years of Command Staff Support experience; Minimum of 1 year of staff experience performing within a higher headquarters level staff (Major Command, Combatant Command)
