DLS Engineering is seeking a Principal Software Engineer to support a major modernization initiative within the geospatial-intelligence mission space. This role is fully on-site in St. Louis and requires an active TS/SCI clearance.

What You’ll Do:
- Design, develop, and enhance software and database systems.
- Support full lifecycle development across:
- âś“ Agile software engineering
- âś“ CI/CD and pipeline configuration
- âś“ Front-end, server-side, and API development
- âś“ Testing, security, accreditation, and system integration
- Work across secure cloud environments and modern DevSecOps frameworks.
What We’re Looking For:
- Active Top Secret/SCI clearance.
- Deep understanding of the software development lifecycle.
- Proven ability to lead and guide technical teams.
- Strong communication skills; comfortable explaining complex concepts to diverse audiences.
- Experience with test-driven development and automated testing in Agile environments.
Required Technical Skills:
- Python enterprise application development
- React.js (high-performance applications)
- API design and development
- Web services architecture
- PostgreSQL database design
- AWS environments and AWS-native tools
Education & Experience
- Master’s + 13 years experience
OR
- Bachelor’s + 15 years experience
OR
- 17+ years of equivalent hands-on software engineering experience
