Hughes has an exciting opportunity for a System Administrator with TOP SECRET Clearance . This role will be in our Defense and Government Systems Division Information Assurance Team. The opportunity is located within our Germantown, Maryland campus, on-site 5 x weekly.

Responsibilities:
• Identify, remediate, or patch vulnerabilities proactively (scheduled regular patching), and reactively (zero day) on multiple devices.
• Contribute to documentation, and ongoing monitoring of systems for continuous improvement and updates for recency and relevancy.
• Develop audit test plans ensuring our continued success towards maintaining an Authority to Operate (ATO). Respond to assigned Plan of Action and Milestones (POA&M).
• Participate in auditing, testing, and tabletop exercises.
• Provide Continuous Monitoring (ConMon) systems for anomalous activity (after-hours use, attempted privileged command execution, data exfiltration, etc.) and perform appropriate incident response procedures as necessary.
• Provide Configuration Management: document system details regarding OS, configurations, connections, software and hardware installed.

Requirements:
• BA/BS degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Information Technology, related fields AND/OR Equivalent military education or related work experience.
• 3+ years of experience operating with and under the NIST/DoD/DoW Risk Management Framework (RMF), National Industrial Security Program Operating Manual (NISPOM), or Joint Special Access Program (SAP) Implementation Guide (JSIG).
• Professional credentials in compliance with Level 1 IAT (A+, CE, CCNA-Security, CND, Network+, CE, or SSCP) [DoD 8570 baselines -> DoD 8140].
• DoD/DoW Top Secret clearance with SCI eligibility and/or Special Program accesses.

Preferred Qualifications:
• Familiar with applying technical and administrative controls to adhere to security policies/controls.
• Proficient knowledge of various computer operating systems, hardware, software, and network data flows as an administrator.
• Experience configuring logging tools, reports, vulnerability scanning, monitoring tools.
• Experience with backup, storage, hypervisors, and archiving solutions.
• Experienced in DoD/Federal security Governance, Risk, and Compliance (GRC)
• Experience with security tools throughout the System Development Life Cycle (SDLC)
• Proficiency navigating and administering various operating systems, physical machines, virtual appliances, virtual machines, routers, switches, firewalls, hypervisors, etc.
• Professional Certifications (ex. CompTIA A+, CompTIA Network+/Cisco CCNA, CompTIA Linux+ or Similar.

Will be eligible for discretionary bonus, with funding based on company performance. Salary negotiable.
