Responsibilities
Essential Duties & Job Functions:
- Airfield & Flightline Operations Management:
- Manage the 6th Civil Engineer Squadron (CES) Airfield Driving Program, ensuring strict adherence to the Performance Work Statement (PWS) for the MacDill AFB Civil Engineer Base Maintenance Contract and Air Force Instruction (AFI) 13-213.
- Coordinate and oversee annual MacDill AFB Runway Rubber Removal projects, typically performed overnight for 8-9 hours, ensuring minimal disruption to base operations.
- Provide essential flightline escorting services as requested, maintaining safety and security protocols.
- Facilities & Infrastructure Oversight:
- Oversee base-wide Overhead Doors, including coordinating annual inspections and managing all service calls.
- Manage Portable Restroom services, ensuring weekly servicing and coordinating unit relocations as directed by the PWS.
- Manage all Request for Service tickets for various facilities, including those related to glass and doors, ensuring timely and effective resolution.
- Coordinate semi-annual preventive maintenance, repairs, and service calls for Automatic Gates and Swing Gates across the base.
- Oversee the First Flush Diversion System and Building 563, ensuring environmental compliance and operational integrity.
- Safety & Compliance Administration:
- Administer annual maintenance, certification, and monthly inspections and accountability for Aircraft Fire Bottles.
- Manage annual certifications for Civil Engineer fire extinguishers specifically for Dormitories and Civil Engineer buildings.
- Administer Eatery Chemical Treatments across all base-wide eateries to prevent grease buildup in sewer pipes, contributing to plumbing system maintenance.
- Manage the Fire Trainer and Pond, including semi-annual inspections and certification for the Fire Trainer and monthly inspections for the Pond, as well as managing service calls.
- Access & Vendor Coordination:
- Request Background Checks and issue DBIDS (Defense Biometric Identification System) cards to off-base contractors and vendors (e.g., The Home Depot, Grainger), facilitating secure base access.
- Sponsor vendors and contractors onto the base as necessary, adhering to all security protocols.
- Escort Plumbing Shop personnel to pump out the NAOC (Naval Air Operations Center) pit on the South Ramp.
- Emergency Response & On-Call Duty:
- Serve as a primary point of contact and representative for the 6th Civil Engineer Squadron (CES) during after-duty hours, weekends, and holidays emergency calls on a rotating basis (approximately every three months).
- Ensure timely response and appropriate action to critical incidents.
- Other duties assigned.

Job Requirements
Mandatory:
- Education: Bachelor's degree or, in lieu of, a minimum of 4 years of progressive experience in facilities management, base operations, or a related field.
- Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Demonstrated understanding of military base operations, particularly within the Civil Engineer Squadron context.
- Exceptional organizational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple complex programs and priorities simultaneously.
- Excellent communication (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with diverse stakeholders.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Proven ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
- Ability to obtain and maintain Secret Clearance.
- Strong problem-solving aptitude and ability to respond effectively to emergencies.
Preferred:
- Relatable professional experience within a military or government contracting environment.
Working Conditions:
- Work is performed indoors and outdoors. Outdoor work is subject to temperature extremes and inclement weather conditions.
- Subject to hazards that may cause personal bodily harm, diseases, cuts, bruises, burns, dust odors, and elevated noise levels.
- Tasks may be performed in uneven, inclined, hard, and soft-carpeted surfaces/floors, cement structures and surfaces.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to perform duties that may require standing, walking, bending, and occasional lifting of up to 25 pounds.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including nights and occasional weekends for specific projects (e.g., runway rubber removal).
