Clearance Required: Must be a U.S. Citizen and possess a current and active TS/SCI clearance granted by the Department of Defense or an Intelligence Community agency. Must be able to pass a Counterintelligence (CI) Polygraph.

We are looking for a fully qualified expert in systems engineering to provide systems engineering support for our mission portfolios and leadership for our on-site engineering teams. The candidate shall have proven proposal writing expertise and serve as the solution architect and Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) expert for proposals and other ACS Systems Engineering initiatives including integrating MBSE into the ACS AI practice. The candidate shall maintain Data-Driven Secure Agile Methodology (D2SAM ® ), our systems engineering platform, and provide training to the current and newly hired staff.

Duties Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
  • Assists the Government in supporting Geospatial Systems Engineering day-to-day tasks as required in the review, development, and vetting of program and National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency (NGA) studies/trades/plans and/or documents including operational and functional requirements, system context diagrams, Concepts of Operations (CONOPS), Interface Control Documents (ICDs), Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) development and process implementation, and Requests for Change (RFC).
  • Performs the full lifecycle of engineering support including but not limited to requirements engineering, solutions engineering, scheduling, reliability analysis, resiliency analysis, development, integration, test and evaluation, maintainability analysis, and decommissioning
  • Leads the identification, tracking, mitigation, and resolution of technical risks and issues to ensure the timely, functionally efficient, and cost-effective stand-up of new capabilities.
  • Develops solutions designs based on analysis of requirements and new technology
  • Conducts Analysis of Alternatives (AoA), Trade Studies, and Engineering Assessments.
  • Evaluates cloud environments for efficiency, redundancy, and utilization improvements and provides recommendations.
  • Identifies industry and NGA standards and creates unique standards for open architecture, service centric architecture, service-oriented architecture, and cloud architecture for inclusion in RFPs, existing contracts, and government development efforts.
  • Provides modeling and simulation analysis.
  • Evaluates and provides recommendations on how to automate or improve existing systems and workflows.
  • Leads and assists in coordinating the work of a team of systems engineers.
  • Maintains the ACS Systems Engineering Processes.
  • Designs, develops, and coordinates central architectures, system engineering, MBSE concepts, and systems engineering for advanced concepts including artificial intelligence and Digital Twin.
  • Integrates MBSE into the ACS AI practices.
  • Supports ACS business winning initiatives with Systems Engineering Solutions and writing support.


Required Qualifications:
  • Expert-level demonstrated experience in government or industry in relevant work areas including: DoD/IC Acquisition Process, Requirements Process, PPBES Process or system engineering of large complex System of Systems or Service Oriented Architecture/Cloud environments.
  • Certified as an INCOSE System Engineering Professional (CSEP) or DAWIA (level III) in IT or SPRDE or certified Scaled Agile Framework Agilist (SA) or Software Development Framework.
  • Ten years of demonstrated experience with MBSE processes, tools and languages.
  • Significant systems engineering experience with or at NGA and demonstrated experience with / knowledge of NSG/ASG.
  • Significant experience with systems engineering lifecycle.
  • Experience developing solution architectures for business growth artifacts.
  • Expert level experience across the system "V" and the Scaled Agile Framework.
  • Experience in leading teams.
  • Proven and demonstrable experience writing large proposals for our key customers.

Desired Qualifications:
  • Doctorate degree in Systems Engineering or in a related hard science STEM field such as, engineering, physics, mathematics, operations research, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, Management Information Systems, Geographic Information Systems, or Geodetic Sciences or in project management or engineering management.
  • Experience engineering solutions using Cloud-based technologies.
  • Experience architecting solutions using Automation, Artificial Intelligence, and Augmentation technologies.
  • Expert-level demonstrated experience in geographic information systems, geodetic sciences, or related fields.
  • Expert-level demonstrated experience with Foundation GEOINT data domains and mission areas.
  • Expert-level demonstrated experience with NGA Process and tools, to include System Engineering, Acquisition, Configuration Management, Readiness and Security.

Education Qualifications:
  • Master's Degree or higher in Computer Engineering or in a related hard science STEM field such as engineering, physics, mathematics, operations research, Information Technology, Management Information Systems, Geographic Information Systems, or Geodetic Sciences. A degree in Systems Engineering, Project Management, or similar non-technical field does not satisfy this requirement.
