Summary
Our client is seeking a Systems Security Analyst to support the Chief Information Security Office (CISO) in safeguarding enterprise systems and sensitive data. In this role, you will analyze, develop, integrate, test, operate, and maintain cybersecurity systems and controls that protect mission-critical assets supporting national security initiatives.

Key Responsibilities
Analyze, design, and develop secure systems integration, testing, and maintenance processes.
Support Security Information and Event Management (SIEM) operations and optimize related tools.
Lead or participate in security control assessments, documentation, and continuous monitoring activities.
Evaluate system security architecture for compliance with NIST SP 800-53, CIS CSC, and other relevant frameworks.
Identify, assess, and mitigate cybersecurity risks across diverse systems and operational environments.
Support configuration management, patch management, and vulnerability remediation efforts.
Develop and implement cybersecurity policies, procedures, and user credential management systems.
Provide subject matter expertise (SME) to system owners and project teams on security requirements and engineering principles.
Participate in audits, incident response, and system accreditation processes.
Stay current with emerging cyber threats and recommend proactive defense and resilience measures.
Preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)
Strong understanding of computer networking concepts, protocols, and security methodologies.
Familiarity with ICS/SCADA systems, vulnerabilities, and security controls.
Knowledge of cybersecurity laws, regulations, ethics, and compliance standards.
Proficiency in encryption algorithms, cryptography, and key management principles.
Hands-on experience with network security architecture, firewalls, encryption, and risk management.
Proficiency in vulnerability assessment tools and system hardening techniques.
Experience applying security models such as Bell-LaPadula or Clark-Wilson.
Proven ability to evaluate and assess security control effectiveness.
Experience as an Information System Security Manager (ISSM) or similar senior cybersecurity leadership role.
Senior-level expertise with SIEM platforms and cybersecurity assessments.
Minimum Job Requirements
Education & Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security, Information Systems, or related field and at least 2 years of relevant experience; OR
Master’s degree in a related discipline; OR
Equivalent combination of education and experience (10+ years may substitute for a degree).
Experience Levels (Level 5):
PhD in a technical field and 2–5 years of related experience, or
Master’s degree and 5–10 years of related experience, or
Bachelor’s degree and 10–15 years of related experience, or
Associate degree and 15–20 years of related experience.
Candidates must demonstrate in-depth technical expertise and recognized subject matter proficiency in cybersecurity or systems security engineering.
Additional Requirements
Security Clearance: Active Q or Top Secret clearance required; ability to obtain and maintain clearance is mandatory.
May require entry into Materials Access Areas (MAA) and participation in the Human Reliability Program (HRP), including completion of a counterintelligence-scope polygraph per 10 CFR 709.
