Volt is immediately hiring for “Infrastructure Engineer - ENG04” in “Sterling VA”.
About the Role:
As an Infrastructure Engineer, you will play a critical role in designing, deploying, modernizing, and supporting scalable and secure network systems.
You’ll work across diverse computing environments, applying your technical expertise in networking, Linux administration, and virtualization to ensure high performance and reliability.
What You Will Do:
• You will maintain existing systems through Linux-based tools and manage the COTS/FOSS software on the system to support program needs
• You will ensure that all computer, network, and storage resources are maintained for mission use
• You will participate in the deployment of new system baselines (e.g. operating systems, software, network configurations, and data storage configurations)
• You will travel to other customer sites or to the factory as needed to assist in system updates, deliveries, and troubleshooting activities when necessary
• You will be part of a call-in rotation to provide occasional off-hours support
This is a 12 month with possible extension opportunity.
Clearance Required: Active TS/SCI w/ CI POLY
Required Qualifications:
• Typically requires BS/BA Degree in Science, Technology Engineering Math (STEM) in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology or Physics and a minimum 5 years of related work experience
• Experience with VMware: vCenter and ESXi
• Experience with Linux system administration (RHEL/OL preferred)
• Experience with LDAP administration (e.g. creating and managing users and groups)
Preferred Qualifications:
• Experience with Bash scripting
• Experience with hardware maintenance (e.g. troubleshooting, FRU replacement)
• Experience with out-of-band management (e.g. iDRAC, terminal server concentrators)
• Experience with Dell and Cisco hardware
• Experience with NTP (Network Time Protocol)
• Experience with Smart PDU (Power Distribution Units)
• Experience with NFS administration
• Experience with DNS administration
• Experience with networking administration: LAN and firewalls (Cisco preferred)
• General experience with Nagios
• General experience with Microsoft Windows operating system
• General experience with SAN and NAS administration
Pay Rate:- $85/hr.-$95/hr.
