What does this role look like?
The Capture Excellence (CE) team within Lockheed Martin (LM) Space Strategy & Business Development (S&BD) is responsible for enabling the business's growth objectives by leading with the talent, processes, training, and tools necessary to shape captures and build compelling and compliant offerings to our customers. Additionally, CE is at the forefront of operations and digital transformation for all of Space S&BD.
CE is seeking a director that will lead the Operations & Transformation (O&T) organization within CE. In the deputy role, the successful candidate will partner with the CE Vice President to set the goals and objectives for the CE organization. As the director for the O&T organization, the successful candidate will own the end to end execution of key business operations that enable Space S&BD to execute, make informed business decisions, and deliver transformation initiatives focused on improving S&BD effectiveness, efficiency, and adaptability.
You the following daily key responsibilities:
• GBDS 1LMX Oversight: Serve as the Space executive representative for the GBDS-X efforts collaborating with cross-Business Area and Corporate teams to position 1LMX initiatives, advocate for Space needs, and derive Space benefits. Within Space, direct the planning, execution, and sustainment of the 1LMX activities and tools, driving adoption and utilization across Space S&BD.
• Analysis & Reporting: Build and maintain robust reporting mechanisms for S&BD performance indicators, delivering timely analytics that drive decision making and continuous improvement. Responsible for reporting Key Performance Indicators to Corporate as well as preparation of quarterly analysis and briefing materials.
• Independent Lessons Learned (IL2) Process: Oversee the IL2 function to reflect, synthesize, and disseminate IL2 findings from each capture cycle, and champion the implementation of corrective actions that raise win potential and reduce cycle time.
• Business & Process Efficiency Initiatives: Oversee high impact transformation projects such as AI Assist integration, capture process redesign, and holistic integration of transformation across people, processes, and tools, measuring outcomes against defined efficiency targets.
• Strategic Business Consultants: Oversees the processes and vetting of external consultants to ensure alignment and value to Space S&BD.
• Content Development & Publication: Oversee the production of high quality graphics, narrative writing, and publication assets for capture teams, embedding best in class storytelling and visual communication practices.
• Tool Evaluation & Adoption: Evaluate, select, and institutionalize commercial off the shelf (COTS) and emerging transformation tools that enhance capture proposal development, data management, and collaborative workflows.
The O&T Director position offers a unique platform to shape the future of Space S&BD capture excellence, driving both the strategic rhythm of the organization and the operational engine that powers mission success.
Basic Qualifications:
To be effective, you will need to possess these basic qualifications:
• Progressive experience in capture, proposal management, or business development within the aerospace/defense sector.
• Ability to understand S&BD operations and processes and develop relationships quickly.
• Change agent comfortable leading high visibility initiatives, managing ambiguity, and delivering results in fast paced, mission critical settings.
• You will need to be a US Citizen, and be able to obtain and maintain a US TOP SECRET / SCI clearance , to support this government contract, as well as successfully pass a drug and background check, in order to meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.

• Proven experience in leading and managing diverse and distributed teams and demonstrated success in driving projects such as process and tool transformations at scale.
• Expertise in capture and/or proposal development processes, with a deep understanding of key functional organizations' systems and processes that enable it.
Additionally, the ideal candidate will possess:
• Experience working collaboratively across Enterprise Operations and/or LM Business Areas.
• Strong analytical acumen, understands driving to root cause analyses, and translates insights into measurable performance improvements.
• Strategic thinker who can balance day to day operational demands with long term transformation goals.
• Demonstrated financial acumen including budget planning and analysis.
• Prior demonstrated success in capture management and/or proposal operations.
• Active Top Secret / SCI

Pay Rate: The annual base salary range for this position in California, Massachusetts, and New York (excluding most major metropolitan areas), Colorado, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, New Jersey, Vermont, Washington or Washington DC is $180,000 - $287,500. For states not referenced above, the salary range for this position will reflect the candidate's final work location. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer.
