Strategic Analysis is seeking a professional who will coordinate travel for the Defense Science Board (DSB) and assist the Government in making travel arrangements and voucher reimbursements for up to forty (40) DSB parent board members and sixty (60) special government employees (SGEs) as required by each study/task force under the parameters of the Defense Travel Regulations. The DSB is comprised of former senior military and government officials, as well as industry and academia leaders that provide independent advice to the Department of War (DOW) senior leadership on modern science and technology (S&T) challenges. To conduct its directed research and assessments, the DSB forms temporary task forces or studies which vary in scope, depth, and timeframe according to the needs of DOW sponsors.
Requirements:
-Must be a U.S. Citizen and possess an active SECRET Clearance.
-Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university plus two (2) years of relevant experience.
-Ability to come onsite in Pentagon/Mark Center two (2) days a week.
-Strong experience in Defense Travel System (DTS) and in maintaining personnel training needs for the program.
-Manage travel authorizations, travel modifications, vouchers, and travel log, in accordance with the Joint Travel Regulations and DSB office policies and procedures.
-Communicate with and inform the DSB parent board members and other SGEs throughout the process of travel authorization and reimbursement for all DSB meetings.
-Maintain traveler information and ensure DTS profiles are up to date.
-Assist government with travel-related reports, travel forecasts, budgeting, and issue resolution.
-Experience working with invitational travel orders.
-Knowledge of Federal Advisory Committee Act (FACA) and special government employee (SGE) membership processes.
-Considerable experience in knowledge/database management and Share Point.
-Ability to execute complex technical tasks and apply analytical problem-solving methodologies with limited direction.
-Ability to support DSB Office administrative functions as needed.
-Proficient in MS Office Suite (especially Excel and PowerPoint).
Preferred Requirements:
- Active TS//SCI clearance preferred.
- Knowledge of Defense Travel System and Defense Travel Regulations preferred.
