Job Description
Insight Global is seeking a Systems Engineer I to support a federal client in Suffolk, Va. The Systems Engineer will support the development, enhancement, and integration of Joint Training Tool (JTT) white cell control capabilities, specifically focused on Non-Kinetic Effects (NKE) systems. This position involves designing and implementing systems for the control, monitoring, display, and planning of NKEs within a simulated training environment. The engineer will work closely with technical teams and stakeholders to ensure compliance with JLVC standards and integration with data dashboards. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
· Enhance JTT white cell control capabilities.
· Develop and manage tools for control, monitoring, display, and planning of Non-Kinetic Effects (NKEs).
· Implement advanced visualization tools such as Cesium-based execution maps.
· Conduct regular assessments of JTT system performance and develop improvements as required.
· Integrate JTT systems with existing or future data dashboards to ensure real-time visibility and control.
· Provide technical leadership for architecture design, interface control, and software/hardware integration.
· Develop and maintain system documentation, specifications, and interface control documents.
· Collaborate across multidisciplinary teams including software developers, systems architects, testers, and operational users.
Compensation:
$40/hr to $43hr.
Required Skills & Experience
· 2 years experience with Bachelors in related field; 0 years experience with Masters in related field; or High School Diploma or equivalent and 6 years relevant experience.
· Experience with performance optimization and system evaluation.
· Agile development methodologies and DevSecOps practices
· Strong background in systems integration, cloud infrastructure, and zero trust security.
Nice to Have Skills & Experience
· Experience supporting Joint or DoD training environments (Live/Virtual/Constructive).
· Familiarity with tools and systems such as:
o JTEN/JTEN-X
o MPE (Mission Partner Environment)
o CDS (Cross Domain Solutions)
o JADC2 and CJADC2 frameworks
· Demonstrated ability to manage complex technical projects in a fast-paced environment.
· Prior support to large-scale exercises or operational test events.
· AWS/Azure/GCP Cloud Certifications
· Systems Engineering Certifications (INCOSE CSEP)
· Strong knowledge of modeling and simulation environments, preferably JLVC and JTT.
· Experience with Non-Kinetic Effects (NKE) systems integration.
· Familiarity with data visualization tools (e.g., Cesium, GIS systems).
· Prior work on Department of Defense (DoD) training or operational support systems.
