The Opportunity:

As a CACI SOF Operations Planner, you will play a vital role in protecting national security by empowering Special Operations Forces (SOF) against the threat of Weapons of Mass Destruction (WMD). Your work will enable DoD, Intelligence Community (IC), and Interagency (IA) partners to execute effective strategies for dismantling, disrupting, and defeating WMD networks.
  • Enhance situational awareness for SOF by developing processes that improve understanding of WMD threats.
  • Guide and support the warfighter in developing operational plans (CONOPs) and coordinating mission-critical technical resources.
  • Integrate multi-source operational and intelligence data to provide supported units with a unified and comprehensive picture of the battlespace.
  • Ensure operational readiness by designing and implementing training objectives that validate critical tactics and procedures.


Responsibilities:

As a Defense Threat Reduction Agency (DTRA) SOF Operations Planner, embedded with the 75th Ranger Regiment at Fort Benning, you will serve as a key advisor to SOF commanders and staff. You will provide expert technical and operational guidance on Crisis Response and Countering Weapons of Mass Destruction (CWMD) planning, training, and synchronization for deployed SOF elements. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Supporting SOF teammates and managing requests for DTRA capabilities.
  • Collaborating with a variety of SOF units, institutions, and partners.
  • Assisting with SOF pre-deployment training and preparation.
  • Supporting deployed units through reach-back assistance.
  • Traveling CONUS/OCONUS for short-duration TDY when required.


Qualifications:

Required:
  • Current Top Secret/Sensitive Compartmented Information Security Clearance.
  • Minimum two years' experience planning and supporting operations at a Combatant Command, Theater Special Operations Command, the Joint Special Operations Command, a CJSOTF, a Regional Task Force (RTF), CYBERCOM, or other equivalent joint formation.
  • Minimum five years' experience and in-depth knowledge of the Military Decision-Making Process (MDMP), to include mission analysis, Course of Action (COA) development and Concepts of Operations (CONOP) approval briefings, targeting methodologies, CONOP documents and FRAGOs.
  • The ability to rapidly learn technical aspects of CWMD policy and operations assuming expertise in other areas such as authorities associated with CONPLANs, OPLANS, and EXORDS.
  • Experience collaborating with, and building communities of interest, in the national security enterprise.
  • Experience working in Cross Functional Teams, Operational Planning Teams, and other groups that aim to bring disparate capabilities together to achieve military effects.
  • You must possess the ability to effectively communicate both orally and in writing.
  • Proficient in the utilization of Microsoft office tools to include SharePoint and OneNote.
  • You will be able to provide daily feedback to the team lead and supported unit on product development.
  • Bachelor's degree and three years of experience, or associate's degree and seven years of experience, or nine years of relevant work


Desired:
  • More than five years of experience at tactical formations, SMU, SOTF and higher.
  • More than 8 years of military, academic, or defense industry functional experience.
  • A practical understanding of the National Defense Strategy that directs Integrated Deterrence and that aligns EXORDS, CONPLANS, and OPLANS.
  • Specialized experience in military or IC compartmented or sensitive activities (IJSTO, SAP, ACCM, etc.).
  • Working knowledge of USSOCOM, Interagency, and the DOD enterprise.
  • Understanding of JP 3-40.
  • Understanding of SOCOM's role as the CWMD coordinating authority for the Department of Defense.
  • Knowledge of cyber authorities and the cyber CONOP process.
  • Familiarity with penetration tools and testing methodologies an added plus.
