Informational Systems Security Engineer

Zachary Piper Solutions is seeking an Information Systems Security Engineer to join a classified defense aviation program located in Las Vegas, NV through 100% onsite presence . The Information Systems Security Engineer will design, deploy, and maintain cybersecurity infrastructure, perform security assessments and audits, and support national security operations through scripting, automation, and compliance .

Responsibilities of the Information Systems Security Engineer include:

• Design, implement, and maintain cybersecurity infrastructure for classified systems
• Deploy and configure security tools and technologies, including SIEM, EDR, and firewalls
• Perform security assessments, audits, and ensure compliance with NIST 800-53 and RMF standards
• Troubleshoot and resolve security issues across network and system environments
• Document security controls, procedures, and compliance artifacts
• Utilize scripting and automation to enhance security operations and threat response

Qualifications of the Information Systems Security Engineer include:

• 2+ years in cybersecurity or related IT fields
• Bachelor's Degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science or a related field
• Active DOE Q or Top Secret clearance
• Security + or Red Hat certification; CISSP preferred
• Strong understanding of network and system security principles, including NIST 800-53 and RMF frameworks
• Hands-on experience with cybersecurity tools and technologies, such as SIEM, EDR and firewalls
• Proficiency in scripting and automation to support security operations and infrastructure hardening

Compensation for the Information Systems Security Engineer includes:

• Salary Range: $130,000-$140,000 **depending on experience**
