Description:The APEX team is seeking a highly skilled Research Scientist Senior Staff who brings deep expertise in RF systems engineering together with a strong background in system architecture and complex systems design. The role will drive the development, integration, and enhancement of space based radar payload, processing and bus technologies. The Radar/EW architect is expected provide a focal point for system level architecture, team leadership and execution for ensuring that mission requirements are translated into robust, affordable and discriminatory technology mature solutions.
Key Responsibilities
• Lead evaluation of radar system performance
o Ensuring that the system meets its functional and performance requirements and serves the user's needs
o Identification of critical technology development areas (*e.g. radar payload technologies processing algorithms, and other related technologies that may improve the overall affordability and system performance.
o Both lead and individually contribute to development and/or application of detailed system models and simulations to predict system performance and support trade studies.
• Design, develop, and oversee system architectures for complex, multi disciplinary programs.
• Translate mission requirements into total system solutions, accounting for technology readiness and maturity constraints.
• Develop system element architecture, interface definitions, and architectural guidelines for current and future systems.
• Serve as the primary point of contact for architecture communication across internal and external stakeholders.
• Support internal and external design reviews, ensuring alignment with mission goals and technical standards.
• Maintain up to date knowledge of emerging technologies, design methodologies, and analysis tools.
• Develop models and architectural roadmaps to guide future system development and technology insertion.
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering, RF Engineering, Systems Engineering, or a related discipline.
System architecture development and analysis for complex, mission critical platforms.
Technical Experience with Space Radar Systems
Proficiency in radar signal processing and analysis languages/tools (e.g., MATLAB, Python, C/C++).
Desired Skills:
Familiarity and preferably experience with the DoD acquisition process (SRR, CDR, etc.)
Demonstrated ability to lead cross functional teams, articulate architecture decisions, and conduct effective design review presentations.
Masters of Science degree in Electrical Engineering, RF Engineering, Systems Engineering, or a related discipline.
Security Clearance Statement: This position requires a government security clearance, you must be a US Citizen for consideration.

Schedule for this Position: 9x80 every other Friday off
Pay Rate: The annual base salary range for this position in California, Massachusetts, and New York (excluding most major metropolitan areas), Colorado, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, New Jersey, Vermont, Washington or Washington DC is $134,000 - $236,325. For states not referenced above, the salary range for this position will reflect the candidate's final work location. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only.
