The Opportunity:
We are seeking a knowledgeable and proactive Systems Integration Specialist to lead the integration of software platforms within a key Government Center. The individual will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining data integration solutions to ensure seamless data flow and interoperability across systems, applications, and platforms. This role plays a critical part in enabling data-driven decision-making by ensuring that data is accessible, accurate, and consistent across the organization. The Specialist will collaborate with cross-functional teams to analyze business needs, develop integration strategies, and support the organization's digital transformation initiatives. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of application programming interfaces (APIs) and will work closely with stakeholders to ensure that integrations meet the user needs effectively. This role is critical in enhancing the user experience and functionality of our systems

Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and implement data integration solutions to connect disparate systems, databases, and applications.
- Ensure data interoperability by leveraging APIs, ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes, middleware, and other integration tools.
- Create and maintain data pipelines to support real-time and batch data processing.
- Establish and enforce data integration standards, best practices, and governance policies.
- Analyze and document the API specifications of all applicable applications within the Center
- Create comprehensive technical documentation that details integration processes and requirements.
- Engage with user groups, project managers, and developers to gather and understand integration needs.
- Develop and implement integration solutions that align external platforms with new systems, ensuring seamless data flow and interoperability.
- Develop and maintain APIs, web services, and other integration interfaces to enable secure and efficient data exchange.
- Provide technical support for integration-related issues and resolve them in a timely manner.
- Document integration workflows, data mappings, and technical specifications.
- Monitor and troubleshoot integration processes to ensure data accuracy, reliability, and performance.
- Troubleshoot and resolve any integration issues that arise during the development and implementation phases.
- Design and execute testing protocols to validate the successful integration of systems.
- Conduct system and data flow analysis to identify bottlenecks, inefficiencies, and areas for optimization
- Ensure that all integrations are compliant with industry best practices and security standards.
- Stay updated on industry trends and best practices related to API integration and system interoperability.
- Identify opportunities for optimizing existing integrations and enhancing user experience.

Qualifications:
Required:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Proven experience with API development and integration projects.
- Prior experience in development in AWS and performance as a Systems Engineer and Database Engineer.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of working collaboratively with diverse teams.
- U.S. Citizen with active TS/SCI clearance (with CI Polygraph)
Desired:
- Understanding of software development methodologies and project management principles.
- Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, Java, or SQL.
- Strong understanding of APIs (REST, SOAP) and web services.
- Experience with ETL/ELT processes and tools.
- Familiarity with data modeling, data warehousing, and database management systems (e.g., SQL Server, Oracle, MySQL).
- Knowledge of data standards and protocols (e.g., HL7, FHIR, JSON, XML).
