Senior Systems Engineer (Level 5)

Kaizen Approach is currently seeking a Senior Systems Engineer to provide advanced technical leadership and oversight for the design, development, and implementation of enterprise IT systems in support of high-priority federal missions. In this role, you will lead systems engineering teams, manage large-scale IT initiatives, and ensure that solutions meet technical, operational, and security requirements. You will be responsible for evaluating, integrating, and enhancing complex systems while applying best practices in information assurance, performance optimization, and lifecycle sustainment. The ideal candidate will possess deep expertise across multiple platforms, strong knowledge of systems architecture and engineering methodologies, and the ability to translate mission objectives into secure, scalable technical solutions

Requirements:

• Must have experience identifying and resolving issues within existing systems, as well as designing and implementing new or enhanced system architectures.
• Must have experience conducting analysis, design, and construction of next-generation IT systems.
• Must have experience translating customer needs and mission objectives into system requirements and development plans.
• Must have experience with telecommunications (TCP/IP, OIS/CMIP/X25), operating systems (Windows, UNIX, Linux), and database applications (Oracle, MS Access, Sybase).
• Must be able to apply ITIL and SEI/CMM principles to systems engineering and project management processes.
• Must have experience providing technical project management and leadership to engineering teams.
• Must have experience performing oversight of systems engineering activities and ensuring compliance with Information Assurance (IA) standards.
• Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline with at least ten (10) years of relevant experience required. An Associate's degree with at least fifteen (15) years of relevant experience may substitute.

• Must possess DoD 8570 Information Assurance System Architect and Engineer (IASAE) Level II certification and a Computing Environment (CE) certification such as Microsoft OS or CentOS/Red Hat OS.
• Active TS/SCI clearance with polygraph required.

Salary Range:
A variety of factors can impact the final salary offered, including, but not limited to, geographic location, Federal Government contract labor categories and wage rates, relevant work experience, specialized skills and competencies, education, and certifications.
