Basic Qualifications
Requires a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, or a related Science, Engineering or Mathematics field. Also requires 15+ years of job-related experience, or a Master's degree plus 13 years of job-related experience.
CLEARANCE REQUIREMENTS:
Department of Defense TS/SCI security clearance with Polygraph is required at time of hire. Applicants selected will be subject to a U.S. Government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. Due to the nature of work performed within our facilities, U.S. citizenship is required.
Responsibilities for this Position
General Dynamics Mission Systems has provided high reliability space electronics since the 1960s. Four hundred space missions later, side-by-side with the US Government, our technology is providing critical support to our defense as well as orbiting other planets. This position offers an opportunity to contribute the cutting-edge space systems and technology in support of our Nation's defense. Our teams work closely with mission partners to develop solutions enabling critical national security missions. The selected candidate will lead efforts to transition critical technologies into space.

Position Objectives:
A successful candidate will lead technical efforts ensuring our space systems meet performance objectives in intense radiation environments. This includes effects due to both natural space and nuclear radiation environments. The objectives of a Distinguished Member of the Technical Staff for Radiation Effects include:

Target salary range: USD $214,472.00/Yr. - USD $237,929.00/Yr. This estimate represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors (geographic location, etc.). Actual pay may vary. This job posting will remain open until the position is filled.

- Ensure mission success through proactive technical engagement and innovation
- Drive technology, capabilities, and their integration into roadmaps and products
- Validate and establish new engineering radiation effects processes
- Mentor junior engineers and team-member
