The Judge Group is seeking an experienced Systems Administrator to support our client's Mission Operations portfolio in Herndon, VA , delivering complex, mission-critical computing and infrastructure solutions for government and commercial customers operating in some of the most challenging environments on Earth.
 
In this role, you'll collaborate with high-performing engineering and operations teams to design, deploy, maintain, and secure computing systems that ensure the success of vital missions.

This job will have the following responsibilities:
- Collaborate in the design, deployment, and management of advanced computing delivery systems, standards, and change management processes.
- Monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues, and perform regular maintenance including updates, patches, and security fixes.
- Support network engineers with configuration and management of network services such as DNS, DHCP, and Active Directory.
- Implement and manage backup strategies to ensure data protection and robust disaster recovery capabilities.
- Apply and maintain security measures-firewalls, endpoint protection, and access controls-to protect systems from unauthorized access and threats.
- Analyze system performance to identify and resolve bottlenecks, improving efficiency and responsiveness.
- Maintain comprehensive documentation of configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting steps; generate reports on system health, security, and compliance.
- Participate in planning and executing new systems, upgrades, and migrations, ensuring technical integrity and adherence to best practices.
- Stay current with evolving technologies, industry trends, and security practices through continuing education, training, and certifications.
- Support automation, configuration management, and infrastructure administration efforts in line with established change control processes.
- Mentor, lead, and train other team members in best practices for system administration and information security.
Qualifications & Requirements:
- Active TS/SCI U.S. Security Clearance with Full Scope Polygraph (FSP) required.
- 5+ years of related experience for mid-level roles, or 10+ years for senior-level consideration.
- Demonstrated system administration experience in Linux/Unix and/or Windows environments.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Expertise in on-premises virtualization (e.g., AHV, VMware ESXi, Hyper-V) or cloud technologies (AWS, Azure).
- Experience with Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI), infrastructure monitoring, and securing enterprise systems.
- Strong working knowledge of information security principles, auditing, and incident response.
- Experience using Confluence , Jira , or similar platforms for documentation and task management.
- Relevant industry certifications (e.g., CompTIA Security+, AWS Certified SysOps, CISSP, Microsoft, or other INFOSEC credentials).
