Akima Systems Engineering is looking for a Service Desk Administrator (VTC/Telecom) to work on Shaw Air Force Base, SC.
Our Service Desk Administrator (VTC/Telecom) provides front-line customer service desk support, responsible for responding to and resolving computer, printer, and network issues. Customers contact the Service desk in-person, by phone, using Remedy and/or by sending emails. This position involves a high degree of quick decision making and detailed task management to ensure all work orders not resolved at the Service Desk are immediately assigned to the appropriate IT groups. Excellent customer service skills are mandatory. The place of performance for this role is on-site at USARCENT G6 on Shaw Air Force Base in Sumter, SC.

Responsibilities
- On-site (within Patton Hall) Video Teleconferencing operations is able to support 24/7/365 days to meet emerging mission requirements.
- Provide technical support for the command VTC Multi- Conference Unit (MCU) servers, bridges and all VTC suites located throughout the MCP. In addition, support VTC conferences classified up to "SECRET" level. See Workload Data for detailed descriptions.
- Maintain an up-to-date database to track VTC suites to include inventory by unit, IP, location, point-of-contact (POC), Site ID, and the information required on the VTC request form. Provide system configuration management, circuit validation, and all other required functions on the bridge and endpoints. Set-up VTC suites within the bridge for command customers.
- Coordinate the update of software and firmware versions on all VTC equipment and test updated equipment to validate proper functionality and operations. Remove, install Government purchased software and hardware, and test section equipment to accomplish equipment configurations as required to maintain 100% operational status of section equipment to accomplish life-cycle equipment replacements, equipment upgrades, and configuration changes.
- Conduct conference preparation, monitoring VTC equipment & system performance; reporting equipment and network problems to appropriate parties and performing maintenance & repair. Conduct all Audio-Visual setup support for in house conferencing and ceremony events. Shall integrate and support Microsoft Teams within USARCENT conference rooms.
- Follow the G6 Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for VTC scheduling, operation, and maintenance procedures. Coordinate functional tests and scheduled VTCs with local and remote users, NECs, Defense Information Systems Global-Video Services (GVS); Defense Information Systems Network (DISN), and installation bridge operators.
- Provide the USARCENT G6 leadership and the COR with Certificates of Net-worthiness (CON) for Coalition Acquisition Requirement Board (CARB) submissions. Implement configuration updates to the bridge topology as a result of changes to security requirements or the installation's network architecture. Provide the USARCENT G6 leadership and the COR with VTC validations and certifications.
Qualifications
- Minimum High School diploma/GED.
- Minimum 1 year of experience with VTC systems. (Cisco, Polycom, Vidyo/GVS).
- CompTIA A+ (or equivalent) a plus.
- Required: Active SECRET Clearance.
