Computer Systems Administrator / Network Administrator
Overview Provide end-to-end IT support and systems administration for a DoD-focused EW/MD development and testing environment. Responsible for maintaining secure, mission-critical network and compute infrastructure, enabling development, validation, and operation of mission data against radar and IR-guided weapon threats.
Key Responsibilities
• Operate and maintain government IT infrastructure (networks, servers, storage, and peripherals) to support EW mission data development, testing, and validation.
• Serve as the primary escalation point for hardware, software, network, and end-user issues; diagnose, isolate, and remediate to restore service.
• Implement, configure, and sustain IT solutions in accordance with applicable policies, standards, and procedures; ensure compliance with DoD IA requirements (DoD 8570 framework).
• Administer both Linux (RHEL-based) and Windows environments; manage Cisco-based network devices (routers and switches) to ensure secure, reliable connectivity and performance.
• Provide technical training and user support; develop documentation, runbooks, and knowledge base articles; assist in the design and delivery of demonstrations and training materials.
• Perform COMSEC-related duties as required; maintain appropriate controls and records per program directives.
• Support application development and testing workflows (MD development/validation/verification, EW test engagements, and related telecommunication/video conferencing needs).
• Engage in asset and inventory management for hardware, software, and licenses; monitor system health and perform routine maintenance tasks.
• Participate in security and incident response activities consistent with safeguarding sensitive information and operations.
Required Qualifications
• DoD 8570-compliant information assurance certification (e.g., Security+ or equivalent), with ongoing IA duties.
• Education options to meet requirement:
○ High School diploma + 12 years of relevant experience
○ Associate’s degree + 10 years of relevant experience
○ Bachelor’s degree + 8 years of relevant experience
• Practical experience in:
○ Linux/RHEL administration and scripting
○ Cisco router/switch administration and troubleshooting
○ IT hardware/software lifecycle management and peripheral support
○ End-user support, ticketing, and training delivery
○ DoD-style policies, security controls, and documentation practices
• Strong communication, documentation, and customer service skills
• Ability to perform light physical tasks (e.g., lifting up to 30 pounds)
Preferred Qualifications
• Direct COMSEC duties experience or demonstrated familiarity
Advanced networking knowledge (e.g., routing, switching, VPN, VLANs), security best practices, and incident response
Compensation:
$90,000-$100,000
