As a Software Test Engineer V, you will serve as a senior authority in software testing methodologies, tools, and automation strategies. You will design, develop, and implement advanced test frameworks and processes to ensure the reliability, functionality, and security of complex software systems. This position requires strong leadership in defining quality strategies, solving intricate technical problems, and driving continuous improvement across the full software development lifecycle. You will collaborate closely with software developers, product owners and program leadership to integrate testing into product design, validate requirements, and ensure delivery of high-quality software solutions. Your expertise will guide test automation efforts, performance validation, and compliance with industry and customer standards.

The proposed salary range for this position is $133,500- $160,000. There are a host of factors that can influence final salary including, but not limited to, Federal Government contract labor categories and contract wage rates, relevant prior work experience, specific skills and competencies, geographic location, education, and certifications. RESPONSIBILITIES
    • Develop, document, and maintain detailed Test Strategies and Test Plans that define scope, approach, resources, and schedule for all testing activities across environments

    • Design, implement, and execute automated and manual test cases for functional, integration, regression, performance, and acceptance testing
    • Author, review, and deliver Test Reports that summarize testing results, identify risks, and provide clear traceability between requirements, test cases, and defects
    • Collaborate with development and DevOps teams to integrate automated testing into CI/CD pipelines for continuous validation and early defect detection
    • Assist with root cause analysis of complex software defects, identify corrective actions, and verify resolutions through regression testing
    • Evaluate software functionality, reliability, scalability, and security using advanced testing methodologies and tools
    • Manage and optimize test environments, schedules, and resources to meet program milestones and quality objectives
    • Mentor junior engineers, providing guidance on best practices for test automation, validation, and defect management
    • Monitor test progress, assess risks, and report key metrics and findings to program managers through detailed documentation
    • Drive continuous improvement in testing processes, tools, and standards across projects and programs
    • Ensure adherence to software testing policies, coding standards, and applicable security and compliance requirements
    • Provide technical support to program initiatives, identifying opportunities to improve quality, reduce rework, and enhance user satisfaction
    • Participate in strategic planning to expand automation coverage and test capability maturity across programs
    • Ensure all contractual deliverables (Test Plan, Test Reports, Traceability Matrix, Validation Evidence, etc.) are delivered on schedule and meet customer expectations
    • Complete personal Professional Development Plan (PDP), attend Staff Meetings, and engage in team development activities (camera on)
    • Build and maintain positive professional relationships with clients and internal stakeholders
    • Perform other related duties as assigned


KEY QUALIFICATIONS
    • Clearance: Active Secret
    • Education and Years of Experience: Bachelor's (or equivalent) with 10 - 12 years of experience, or a Master's with 8 - 10 years of experience


    • Proven expertise in software testing, manual and automation frameworks, and quality assurance methodologies for complex systems
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a focus on root cause analysis and process optimization
    • Proficiency in scripting or programming languages such as Python, Java, or JavaScript.
    • Experience with automated testing tools (e.g., Playwright, Robot Framework, Selenium, Cypress, JUnit, TestNG, Jenkins, or similar)
    • Demonstrated ability to lead and mentor technical teams while collaborating across cross-functional disciplines
    • 8570 certification (i.e. Security+, CISSP, CEH, CISM) for IT technical fields


PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
    • Experience with Agile, DevOps, and continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) practices
    • Hands-on experience developing automated test frameworks and integrating them into build pipelines
    • Familiarity with performance, load, and security testing tools and methodologies.
    • Strong documentation and reporting skills to effectively communicate test results and quality metrics
    • Knowledge of software quality standards, such as ISO, CMMI, or DoD-specific compliance frameworks
    • Demonstrated leadership in implementing process improvements and advancing testing efficiency and automation maturity
    • Knowledge of DoD system engineering processes
    • Cloud certifications (I.e. AWS architect, etc) for IT technical fields
    • Network certifications (I.e. Net +, CCNA, CCNP, and the JNCP certs)
