Job Overview

The candidate will be a documentation specialist for the Naval Information Warfare Center (NIWC) United States Coast Guard (USCG) Integrated Product Team (IPT). Will create and update Equipment Integrated Logistics Support Plans (EILSP), System Support Plans (SSP), Equipment Support Plans (ESP), Equipment Support Sheets (ESS) and other Integrated Logistics Support (ILS) documents using MadCap Flare (an HTML-based software), perform Quality Assurance (QA) of ILS documentation, and attend meetings.

Responsibilities

Essential Duties & Job Functions:
  • Create, review, and modify ILS documentation including but not limited to EILSPs, SSPs, ESPs, ESSs, and User's Logistics Support Summaries (ULSS).
  • Manage multiple assignments simultaneously, while working independently and with other project personnel.
  • Gather and analyze technical and equipment information from various sources to develop document content.
  • Attend and participate in team and project meetings.
  • Collaborate with technicians, Subject Matter Experts (SME), and Engineering Drawing drafters to create Quick Reference Diagrams (QRD) and gather system configurations and information.
  • Manage and coordinate documentation as it passes through the C5ISC Review, CG HQ and SELC processes.
  • Review and edit documentation for punctuation, grammar, consistency, formatting and content accuracy.

  • Experience showing good communication, interpersonal, motivational, and organizational skills.
  • Must have a demonstrated ability to work within tight deadlines.
  • Proficient computer skills especially Microsoft Word, Microsoft Teams, Microsoft Excel, and Microsoft PowerPoint.
  • Adherence to company policies and procedures.
  • Timely completion of work.
  • Ability to organize and prioritize own work.
  • Ability to work individually and in a team environment.
  • Complete writing assignments according to set standards regarding order, clarity, conciseness, style, and terminology.
  • Possess excellent written and oral communication skill including ability to make significant presentations.
  • Must be able to work in a team environment with a "can-do" attitude capable of overcoming difficult challenges.
  • Must be self-motivated.

Job Requirements

Mandatory:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Postsecondary education resulting in a degree.
  • US Citizenship.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a SECRET Security Clearance.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products.
  • Proven experience learning new software from various Manufacturers.
  • Experience showing good communication, interpersonal, motivational, and organizational skills.
  • Excellent research skills and keen attention to detail.
  • Must be able to successfully pass a pre-employment background check and pre-hire drug test.

Preferred:
  • Minimum five years' experience in Department of Defense (DoD) and/or Department of Homeland Security (DHS).
  • Experience with MadCap Flare.
  • SECRET Security Clearance.


Working Conditions:

The candidate must be able to work at a desk and computer for long periods of time. The noise level in the work environment is moderate.
