Job Overview

The role of the Subject Matter Expert III (MUOS Provisioner) is to provide technical support to NIWC formally SPAWARSYSCEN Atlantic in support of the MUOS radio program for the USCG IPT (C5ISR). This position will work with an existing engineering team and be the USCG Provisioning source.

Work Model: Onsite/Office Based

Responsibilities

Essential Duties & Job Functions:
The applicant will perform a portion of the following:
  • Perform testing and integration of several MUOS capable radios to include but not be limited to Digital Modular Radio (DMR), PRC 177G, PRC-158 and ARC 210
  • Provision the above radios for deployment to the USCG Fleet
  • Help to develop required documentation for the engineering change process.
  • Provide monthly and weekly status reports for the customer and Program Manager
  • The candidate will provide support for C5ISR system development, repair, maintenance, diagnostic analysis, Calibration and operation support services. The candidate supports the development of organizational, intermediate and depot level maintenance and support processes.
  • Evaluation testing and troubleshooting of MUOS assets
  • Configure MUOS hardware and assets to fulfil required stock demands
  • Other duties as assigned.

Accountable For:
  • Ability to respond to emerging requirement's which may involve travel and/or extended work hours
  • Ability to works well individually or in a team environment
  • Ability to work under pressure and time constraints
  • Strong coordination, organization, teaming and communication abilities

Job Requirements

Mandatory:
  • Must be a US citizen
  • Must have or be able to obtain a SECRET security clearance
  • Background in MUOS communication
  • Minimum 5 years' experience providing technical support for C4I systems and programs.
  • Education: Associate's Degree in "Relevant Technical Field", Engineering Technology, or "Acceptable Education Substitution"
  • Must be able to successfully pass a pre-employment background check and pre-hire drug test

Preferred:
  • Navy/Coast Guard/Army, IT or ET experienced with Communication systems and ancillaries
  • DOD technical communication School
  • MUOS subject matter expert
  • IAT level certification

Working Conditions:
  • The work environment will be in an equipment lab with systems operational. The noise level in the work environment is moderate

  • Ability to lift 45 lbs
