About the Role
We are seeking a passionate and driven Software Engineer to join a dynamic team supporting Ground Solutions and Mission Support (GSMS) software initiatives. This team is responsible for both development and operations & maintenance (O&M) across multiple mission-critical software product lines. The role involves working in a secure environment on innovative solutions that support national security missions, including Next Generation Ground Systems and Ground Element Modernization (GEM).

The role involves working in a secure environment on innovative solutions that support national security missions, including Next Generation Ground Systems and Ground Element Modernization (GEM).
Responsibilities
- Develop software using C++ in an agile team environment operating on Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) systems.
- Design, implement, and unit test new software capabilities based on mathematical algorithm requirements.
- Troubleshoot and resolve software issues, contributing fixes to discrepancy reports.
- Collaborate with subject matter experts and senior engineers across multiple subsystems.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in a STEM discipline with 0-2 years of experience, or a Master's/PhD in a STEM discipline with 0 years of experience. (An additional 4 years of relevant software experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.)
- Active SSBI clearance and ability to obtain SCI.
- Proficiency in object-oriented programming and C++.
- Familiarity with Red Hat Enterprise Linux.
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and decision-making skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with DevSecOps and test automation.
- Proficiency in additional programming/scripting languages such as C, Java, Python, Perl.
- Strong mathematical and algorithmic skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Experience working in Agile scrum teams or familiarity with Agile methodologies.
- Familiarity with Atlassian tools (Confluence, Jira, Bitbucket, Bamboo).
- Experience developing in a Linux environment using Git.
