The Opportunity:
Seeking an experienced multifunctional Tier III IT Windows Infrastructure Engineer to serve as the final escalation point for mission-critical Windows infrastructure supporting Navy/Marine Corps logistics systems worldwide. Resolve complex technical issues affecting force readiness using expertise in Windows servers, Active Directory, and Microsoft technologies. You'll Implement PowerShell automation for streamlined maintenance and collaborate on integrating new capabilities while maintaining system security. Lead technical projects and provide guidance to IT personnel under tight deadlines.
Responsibilities:
• Design, implement, and maintain Windows Server infrastructure (2016/2019/2022) supporting NTCSS applications across Navy and Marine Corps installations.
• Serve as the highest level of technical escalation for complex Windows infrastructure issues, performing advanced troubleshooting and root cause analysis.
• Develop and implement automation solutions using PowerShell scripts to improve operational efficiency and standardization.
• Manage Active Directory architecture, including user/group management, Group Policy Objects, and directory replication.
• Configure and maintain Microsoft Endpoint Configuration Manager (MECM/SCCM) for system imaging, software deployment, and patch management.
• Implement and maintain backup/recovery solutions (e.g., VEEAM) and disaster recovery procedures.
• Ensure security compliance with DoD standards, including vulnerability remediation and Risk Management Framework (RMF) processes.
• Create comprehensive technical documentation for infrastructure systems, processes, and configurations.
• Administer SharePoint 2019+ environments, managing role-based access control and content management.
• Troubleshoot DNS, DHCP, and TCP/IP networking issues in complex infrastructure environments.
• Collaborate with network, database, and application teams to deliver cohesive technical solutions.
• Lead small technical teams in executing high-priority infrastructure projects under tight deadlines.
• Communicate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Support DoD Authority to Operate (ATO) processes, ensuring infrastructure components meet security requirements.
• Integrate and manage cloud services and hybrid infrastructure components, particularly with Microsoft Azure.
Qualifications:
Required:
• 5+ years of professional experience solving technical problems in Windows infrastructure environments.
• Prior experience supporting DoD Business IT supply, logistics, maintenance, and/or personnel administration systems.
• Possess a current CompTIA Security+ certification.
• Demonstrated skills and practical understanding of engineering concepts related to software development and maintenance.
• Broad knowledge and experience in the application of technical principles, theories, and concepts in the field of IT infrastructure.
• Experience ensuring product/service and processes meet quality and safety standards.
• Experience validating systems to ensure processes operate effectively and securely.
• Proficiency in Windows Server administration and Active Directory management.
• Experience with system automation, patching, and security compliance in DoD environments.
• Demonstrated ability to document and resolve complex infrastructure issues.
Desired:
• Experience with DoD Risk Management Framework (RMF) and Authority to Operate (ATO) processes.
• Familiarity with cloud services and hybrid infrastructure, particularly Microsoft Azure and DevOps principles.
• Advanced knowledge of scripting and automation beyond basic PowerShell capabilities.
• Prior military service or experience working with Navy/Marine Corps IT systems.
