AFSS requires a full-time Utah Site Manager to support the RSLP MA contract in Layton, UT. Primary responsible as the technical lead of Minuteman/Peacekeeper Sustainment, Aging Surveillance, and Motor Reuse program. This includes motor and subsystem processing activities, support launch program activities and coordination of engineering support for Minuteman and Peacekeeper transportation and handling equipment, and depot support equipment.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide management support to the RSLP and act as the primary interface with SYD 80/AMXL/OL, 309 th MMXG, and contractor personnel for the coordination and implementation of motor/ booster refurbishment requirements.
  • Interface with the AFSS Kirtland AFB Project Office to assure consistent and coordinated AFSS inputs are made to SYD 80/AMXL and 309 th MMXG Offices.
  • Provide engineering management oversight for all RSLP programs utilizing Minuteman and Peacekeeper solid rocket motors.
  • Provide management oversight for all RSLP Inventory, logistics, TOMA, aging surveillance and sustainment activities being supported by Layton, UT personnel. Technical duties include review and approval of motor processing and sustainment documentation, making task assignments for new programs, supporting technical and management data reviews.
  • Business duties include facilities and security management, employee management including but not limited to, timecard and expense report approval, employee appraisals, dispute resolution.
  • Periodic travel to Government and contractor facilities required.


Requirements:
  • Must have strong communication and presentation skills and demonstrated ability to work with contractor and government counterparts.
  • Demonstrated high initiative, proactive, low-maintenance, self-starter required.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office suite of products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Visio) to perform technical writing, editing, and document formatting.
  • Experience and working knowledge of the Minuteman and Peacekeeper missile systems.


Desired:
  • Familiarity with Aging Surveillance and sustainment of propulsion systems
  • Familiarity with transportation and handling of solid rocket motors.
  • Familiarity with launch range ground and flight safety requirements
  • Experience with the refurbishment and testing of the Minuteman and/or Peacekeeper solid rocket motors.
  • Experience with Air Force Maintenance and Test functions
  • Experience leading propulsion system technical teams


Education/Experience:
  • Bachelors of Science degree in an engineering science. Master's degree desired.
  • 15 years propulsion and systems engineering work experience.
  • Secret Clearance required
