Systems Engineer - Navy IT & Tactical Networks

Location: 100% onsite in Old Town, San Diego | Schedule: 9/80 - Enjoy every other Friday Off!

Clearance: Active Top Secret/SCI required

We're hiring a Systems Engineer to support mission-critical Navy IT and tactical network systems. In this role, you'll help design, operate, and maintain complex, high-impact technologies used in defense environments. Your work will directly support warfighter readiness and national security-on-site, in a fast-paced and highly technical setting.

What You'll Do:
  • Apply engineering principles to develop and maintain Navy IT and tactical network systems.
  • Operate and troubleshoot systems in a secure, real-time environment.
  • Monitor performance, analyze logs, and perform root cause analyses to ensure system integrity.
  • Recommend solutions across a range of areas, including: Tactical networks and related communication systems, LAN/WAN switching and routing and/or cybersecurity engineering and cross-domain solutions


You'll Bring:
  • An active Top Secret/SCI clearance
  • A bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Systems Engineering, IT, or a related field
  • At least 3-5 years of systems engineering experience supporting DoD, Navy, or NAVWAR programs
  • Ability to analyze logs, error reports, and other data to identify trending and conduct root cause analyses.
  • Ability to analyze and recommend solutions for one or more of the following technologies : (i) LAN/WAN switching and routing, (ii) datacenter servers, storage, and hardware virtualization technologies, (iii) zero/thin/thick client workstation hardware and software, (iv) datacenter domain software - Microsoft and/or RHEL, (v) datacenter enterprise software (messaging, collaboration, fileshare, directory service), (vi) datacenter enterprise management software and methods. (vii) cloud-based hosting and management technologies, (viii) mobile device/handheld solutions, (ix) video distribution and VTC technologies, (x) Cross Domain technologies (xi) wireless LAN configuration and administration, (xii) rack integration and engineering, (xiii) engineering cybersecurity into systems, (xiv) overaching system-of-system architectures and system engineering processes.
  • A current CompTIA Security+
  • Strong communication skills, able to brief both technical and non-technical audiences
  • The ability to work independently and collaboratively within cross-functional teams
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Project)
