What You Will Be Doing
Join a forward-thinking team at Lockheed Martin as a Senior Data Analyst (Level 3) supporting the New Business Estimating - Data Analytics Team. In this role, you'll turn data into strategic insight by refining and developing cost-estimating models that directly influence business decisions and future programs. You'll apply advanced statistical techniques, predictive analytics, and machine learning methods to generate reliable, data-driven cost predictions. Working closely with cross-functional partners in estimating, finance, engineering, capture, and program management, you'll play a key role in shaping proposals, optimizing cost strategies, and communicating analytical insights to leaders and customers through compelling reports and visualizations.

Key Responsibilities
- Develop and refine data-driven cost-estimating models using advanced statistical and machine learning techniques.

- Collaborate across estimating, finance, engineering, capture, subcontract, and program management teams to ensure model accuracy and alignment with customer and market needs.

- Translate analytical findings into clear, actionable insights through visualizations, reports, and presentations.

- Support conceptual design cost studies and provide data-driven recommendations for new business pursuits.

- Maintain, validate, and improve key databases used for cost estimation and analytics.

- Conduct rigorous quality-assurance checks to ensure data integrity and model reliability.

- Mentor and support team members by sharing best practices in data analytics, modeling, and visualization.

Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution

- Experience in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint at an advanced level

- Robust mathematical and statistics foundation (to include probability theory, regression modeling, and statistical inference)

- Strong data literacy, experience interpreting, questioning, and clearly conveying findings to diverse audiences

- The ability to obtain and maintain any required security clearance
Desired Skills:
- Experience supporting proposal development, driving new business capture initiatives, and conducting business case analyses
- Experience designing and deploying custom data models and algorithms on datasets to build predictive models
- Working knowledge of aircraft life‑cycle costs with hands‑on experience in parametric estimating-including development of cost‑estimating relationships, and conducting uncertainty and sensitivity analyses
- Excellent communication abilities to clearly convey analytical and technical insights and solutions to both technical and non‑technical audiences
- Working knowledge of Python, R, or comparable programming languages for data manipulation and analysis
- Strong problem-solving, analytical and communication skills
- Experience with business intelligence and data analytics tools/platforms (Tableau or comparable tools)
- Commitment to continuous learning and staying current with emerging data‑science methods, industry‑standard estimating practices, and evolving cost‑modeling techniques

Ability to Work Remotely: Part-time Remote Telework: The employee selected for this position will work part of their work schedule remotely and part of their work schedule at a designated Lockheed Martin facility. The specific weekly schedule will be discussed during the hiring process.
Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
Schedule for this Position: 4x10 hour day, 3 days off per week
Pay Rate: The annual base salary range for this position in California and New York (excluding most major metropolitan areas), Colorado, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, New Jersey, Vermont, Washington or Washington DC is $85,500 - $150,765. For states not referenced above, the salary range for this position will reflect the candidate's final work location. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer. Benefits offered: Medical, Dental, Vision, Life Insurance, Short-Term Disability, Long-Term Disability, 401(k) match, Flexible Spending Accounts, EAP, Education Assistance, Parental Leave, Paid time off, and Holidays. (Washington state applicants only) Non-represented full-time employees: accrue at least 10 hours per month of Paid Time Off (PTO) to be used for incidental absences and other reasons; receive at least 90 hours for holidays. Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year. This position is incentive plan eligible.
Pay Rate: The annual base salary range for this position in most major metropolitan areas in California and New York is $98,300 - $170,315. For states not referenced above, the salary range for this position will reflect the candidate's final work location. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only.
