Network Engineer
Position Overview
Join a dynamic team to design, implement, and maintain enterprise-level network infrastructure. This role focuses on delivering reliable, secure, and scalable network services, with opportunities to mentor junior staff and collaborate across engineering disciplines.
What You Will Do
• Design and implement network infrastructure (LAN/WAN, wireless, routers, switches, firewalls, backbones), planning upgrades and ensuring compatibility with enterprise standards.
• Deploy, configure, and maintain network devices; perform capacity planning, performance diagnostics, and monitoring.
• Troubleshoot moderately complex network issues escalated from Tier 1/2 support using diagnostic tools and traffic analysis.
• Implement security measures, apply patches, conduct assessments, and ensure compliance with applicable standards and recovery plans.
• Document network architecture, procedures, and project requirements; prepare status reports and recommendations based on emerging technologies.
• Provide mentoring and guidance to junior engineers, and coordinate with cross-functional teams to deliver integrated solutions.
• Research and evaluate new network technologies, assess security risks, and propose mitigation strategies.
• Support project activities across disciplines to present unified, integrated solutions to stakeholders.
Qualifications
• 5 years relevant experience with Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field; 3 years relevant experience with Masters in related field; 0 years experience with PhD or Juris Doctorate in related field; or High School Diploma or equivalent and 9 years relevant experience.
• 2–4 years of hands-on network engineering experience with relevant environments (e.g., Juniper, Aruba) and related hardware/software.
• Proficiency with networking protocols (TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF, MPLS) and OSI layers 1–4.
• Experience with network monitoring and diagnostic tools; familiarity with virtualization, cloud networking, and security practices.
• Knowledge of network security (IDS, ACLs, VPNs) and compliance frameworks; risk management experience is a plus.
• Relevant certifications (e.g., JNCIA-Junos, CCNA, Security+) or equivalent; higher certifications (e.g., CCNP, JNCIS-ENT) preferred.
• Able to work independently and in a team in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills; ability to document and present technical information clearly.
Physical and Work Environment
• May require on-site work in office or lab environments; ability to handle typical field conditions as needed.
Compensation:
$38/hr to $67/hr.
