We are seeking a cleared Mandarin Chinese Linguist or Computational Linguist with a strong command of both English and Mandarin and experience supporting classified or sensitive project environments. The ideal candidate will combine linguistic expertise with technical aptitude and demonstrated success in structured project work within government, defense, or research settings.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform linguistic analysis, translation, and corpus annotation in Mandarin Chinese.
Contribute to natural language processing (NLP), machine translation, or data curation initiatives.
Support multidisciplinary teams on classified or sensitive projects requiring cross-language analysis.
Collaborate with computational linguists, data scientists, and analysts to refine models and datasets.
Develop or evaluate language resources, lexicons, and tools to enhance language processing performance.
Document methodologies, maintain linguistic data integrity, and contribute to project deliverables.
Minimum Qualifications (Hard Requirements):
Active U.S. Government Security Clearance — Secret or higher (TS preferred).
Native or fluent proficiency in Mandarin Chinese and professional proficiency in English.
Bachelor’s degree or higher in Linguistics, Computational Linguistics, Computer Science, or related field.
Demonstrated experience working in structured project environments (e.g., government contracts, research programs).
Preferred Qualifications:
Master’s or Ph.D. in Linguistics, Computational Linguistics, or related discipline.
Experience with NLP toolkits or frameworks (e.g., Python, spaCy, Hugging Face, NLTK).
Background in defense, intelligence, or R&D projects.
Familiarity with linguistic annotation tools, corpus design, or multilingual NLP pipelines.
Strong analytical, collaboration, and documentation skills.
Security Clearance Requirement:
Active Secret or Top Secret (TS/SCI) clearance required at time of hire. Candidates without active clearance cannot be considered.
