Performs a wide variety of facility maintenance carpenter duties to maintain and/or construct structural woodwork, wooden equipment, wooden buildings, original crating, and decking involving the estimating, fabrication, assembly, erection of maintenance of wood/metal structures. Periodically lays tiles and making sound proofing and acoustical tile installations often in conjunction with wood structure changes.

**1st shift - 7:30AM - 4:00PM - Portsmouth, RI. This position is an onsite role.**

What you will do:
  • Works from sketches, blueprints and verbal instructions following standard carpenter trade procedures, sets up and operates the above listed equipment to repair and/or build wooden structures, decking, and wooden/metal equipment including office partitions, office furniture, cabinets, racks, stock bins, benches, tote boxes, sheds and wood roofing
  • Repairs and/or builds wood/metal or similar structures by performing rough framing, studding, flooring and sheathing, erecting partitions and fabricating shorting gates as required
  • Repairs and/or fabricates roofing using tar and other asphalt sealing compound materials
  • Sets up and operates circular and radial saws, power joint band saws, power planers, including other shop tools to repair and/or fabricate wooden equipment requiring finish carpentry
  • Fabricates crates and performs special shoring or bracing duties on heavy wood structures and associated shoring
  • Cleans cement flooring, applies tile compound and lays tile, cutting and fitting to meet job specifications
  • Works on ladders and scaffolding as required


Qualifications You Must Have:
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum 5 years of relevant experience
  • Active Construction Supervisor License
  • The ability to obtain and maintain a US security clearance. U.S. citizenship is required as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.

This position is part of a collective bargaining agreement. Wage and workplace conditions, including shift times, are subject to this agreement. Individuals hired into this position will be represented by a union.

Clearance Information: This position requires a security clearance. DCSA Consolidated Adjudication Services (DCSA CAS), an agency of the Department of Defense, handles and adjudicates the security clearance process.
