This role would be ideal for fresh Electrical Engineering graduates with exposure to any sort of Radar/EE systems. A STEM degree is mandatory for this role (hardline from the government).

Program Description:
SSi is fulfilling the Department of the Navy, Naval Sea Systems Command, Naval Surface Warfare Center, Dahlgren Division's requirement for B-Department Sensor Systems Engineering and Technical Support. In this role, the specialist will provide comprehensive engineering and technical support services to the Electromagnetic and Sensor Systems Department (B Department) at NSWCDD. Responsibilities include supporting the entire acquisition lifecycle for Navy and Marine Corps Radar and EO/IR Systems, assisting in the development of sensor system requirements, and engaging in systems engineering activities such as analysis, modeling, and hardware design. The specialist will implement signal processing techniques to enhance sensor data interpretation, support the operation of various sensor systems, and conduct tests and evaluations to verify performance and compliance with specifications. Additionally, the role involves assisting in sensor certification processes and the verification of sensor requirements, all while contributing to existing, near-term, and future projects, programs, technology developments, technology insertions, prototyping, and technology demonstrations related to acquisition efforts.

Responsibilities:
The position will focus leading current and future radar system design and production. The position will support technology developments, technology insertions, prototyping, and technology demonstrations in support of a mission critical and highly visible new program. Responsibilities will include, but not limited to:
• Experienced in formulating opinions, decisions and ultimate performance of the engineering tasks associated with the radar/sensor program/project.
• Perform detailed and complex calculations and knowledge of practices/principles necessary to assess advanced radar systems concepts, assess specifications and perform system integration.
• Configure and execute RAMS model to evaluate performance regression test cases.
• Analyze output data from SPY-6 Real Time Simulations (IQSIM/DETSIM) and the real time radar
• Develop reports and presentations to document and communicate the results of the analysis.
• Assist the M&S lead in maintaining group task list and schedule and supporting team scrum meeting.
• (5) Assist the M&S lead document and track prime contractor M&S priorities and deliverables

Required Qualifications:
• Requires a minimum of a BS/BA in a STEM major from an accredited College or University. Engineering is preferred but not a hard preference if experience is sufficient.
• Candidate requires 1+ years of experience in the industry or field. This may be flexible based on experience. Active-duty service in the Aegis Fleet definitely counts toward this requirement
• Strong familiarity with the Agis weapons system baseline development and production process as well as the SPY-6 RADAR.
• US Citizenship required and the ability to obtain and maintain a DoD security clearance.

Preferred Qualifications:
• The ability to perform detailed complex calculations and knowledge of practices/principles necessary to assess advanced radar systems concepts, assess specifications and perform system integration
• Understanding of the Combat System component and element certification process
• Some key words and tricky phrases which are applicable, Test and Evaluation Master Plan development and execution, RF Engineering, Aegis, SPY RADAR, Combat Systems, Testing Documentation and schedule, MATLAB.
