Job Description
We are seeking a Power Platform Developer to design, develop, and implement enterprise-grade solutions using the Microsoft Power Platform in support of the U.S. Africa Command (USAFRICOM). This role requires expertise in modern UI/UX principles, agile development practices, and collaboration with end users to deliver effective data-driven applications and automations. The ideal candidate will demonstrate proficiency in Power Apps, Power Automate, Power BI, and Dataverse, while ensuring integration and scalability within the enterprise environment.
Job Responsibilities
● Develop enterprise and niche applications using the full Microsoft Power Platform suite, with a focus on Power Apps and Power Automate.
● Collaborate with end-users to gather requirements, propose technical solutions, and execute ad-hoc requests.
● Apply data modeling best practices and design relational data models using Dataverse.
● Build and maintain Model-Driven Apps and integrate Canvas Apps or Custom Pages with Dataverse.
● Create Power BI reports and dashboards to visualize and analyze data, providing actionable insights to stakeholders.
● Implement and manage third-party solutions within Power Apps environments.
● Integrate Power Platform applications with external systems using APIs and REST endpoints.
● Utilize JavaScript and modern client-side development techniques to enhance user experiences.
● Follow agile software development practices, including sprint planning, backlog management, and iterative delivery.
● Document system processes, architecture, and workflows in alignment with DoD software development standards.
● Support and optimize Application Lifecycle Management (ALM) within Power Platform environments.
● Communicate effectively with senior leadership, presenting products and ideas clearly and professionally.
● Operate within a dynamic, fast-paced environment requiring coordination across multidisciplinary teams.
Required Certifications
● CompTIA Security+
● Microsoft Certified Power Platform Fundamentals Certification (PL-900)
Required Qualifications
● Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
● Minimum of 5 years of recent specialized experience in software or application development.
● Extensive experience with the Microsoft Power Platform, including Power Apps (Canvas & Model-Driven), Power Automate, Power BI, and Dataverse.
● Demonstrated understanding of agile development methodologies.
● Proficiency in SharePoint, relational databases, and application data modeling.
● Strong documentation and communication skills.
● Experience working within collaborative software development teams.
Desired Qualifications
● Experience developing and maintaining enterprise-level Power Apps.
● Knowledge of Application Lifecycle Management (ALM) and deployment pipelines within the Power Platform.
● Experience managing multiple Power Platform environments and using the Power Platform Admin Center (PPAC).
● Familiarity with Copilot Studio and AI-driven automation tools.
● Understanding of Department of Defense IT security standards and software development guidelines.
● Experience with Microsoft Visio or XrmToolBox for documentation.
● Knowledge of DoD J6 systems and tools.
● Prior experience supporting military or government clients in a development or IT capacity.
