In Systems Engineering & Test Capabilities (SETC), we perform comprehensive requirements analysis-including clarification, decomposition, and use case development-to ensure every requirement is fully addressed. We integrate, verify, and validate our products through rigorous lab and field testing, making sure they work the first time-and every time.
Our work includes peer reviews of requirements, interface definition documentation, algorithm development, and validation and verification activities. We bring complex systems together, exercise them in test environments, measure and analyze performance, and ensure readiness for deployment.
To make this possible, we partner closely with the full development team to define system requirements, create test plans and procedures, troubleshoot and evaluate system functionality and interfaces, build robust test environments, and collaborate directly with our customers.
We are currently seeking a Principal Site Lead to join our SETC team-someone who will lead local integration and test efforts, coordinate cross-functional collaboration, and serve as a key technical and leadership point of contact at the site. This role is critical to ensuring alignment between program objectives, engineering execution, and customer expectations.

The salary range for this role is 101,000 USD - 203,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate's work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
Hired applicants may be eligible for benefits, including but not limited to, medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short-term disability, long-term disability, 401(k) match, flexible spending accounts, flexible work schedules, employee assistance program, Employee Scholar Program, parental leave, paid time off, and holidays. Specific benefits are dependent upon the specific business unit as well as whether or not the position is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement.

Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company's performance.

What You Will Do
- Provide on-site leadership and management of activities, staff, assets, processes and tasking at the VSFB in support of RTX program
- In this role, you will work with cross-disciplinary team of engineers who are leading the industry in ground systems solutions. Manage and maintain the site schedule, ensuring alignment across mission tests, facility upgrades, and hardware
- Deconflict schedule clashes and escalate risks to leadership with mitigation options
- Lead morning syncs and ensure daily priorities are clearly communicated
- Provide clear end-of-day updates and submit end-of-week reports
- Serve as primary point-of-contact for customer walkthroughs, audits, or program tours
- Coordinate script execution, results review, and issue resolution
- Serve as the primary technical liaison for troubleshooting mission software and system integration efforts
- Support mission configuration validation and hardware/software compatibility checks
- Work in an Agile program environment
- Work in a classified lab on site at Vandenburg Space Force Base, California
Qualifications You Must Have
- Typically requires a Bachelor's in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 8 years of prior relevant experience
- Security+ certification
- Experience troubleshooting and resolving software system execution issues
- Experience as a lead within a systems engineering development environment
Qualifications We Prefer
- Experience working in a Satellite Ground System development or operations environment
- Experience with GPS OCX system
- Experience with Atlassian tools (Jira, Confluence, Bitbucket), Experience utilizing discrepancy report systems
- Experience with Site Security policies and procedures
- Experience as a contractor at a government site
- Experience with Systems integration/engineering
