TEKsystems currently has an opening for a Network Storage Engineer Senior to support execution of projects on the SMIT contract in New Orleans, LA. The Network Storage Specialist Senior is responsible for the installation, maintenance, security, and monitoring of storage infrastructure. Duties include management of system maintenance, root cause analysis, and resolving incidents from escalated tickets.
Successful candidates will have expertise in Data Sharing, Network Attached Storage (NAS), Disaster Recovery (DR) planning, and integrating storage with cloud architectures. Additionally, candidates must be proficient in cluster file systems and technologies supporting high availability and redundancy for server farms and applications.
Experience with Windows OS administration, storage network devices, vendor-neutral storage solutions, and protocols is required. Strong understanding of storage concepts, disk technologies, storage architectures, and storage/network management.
Other duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
• Oversee installation, configuration, and maintenance of enterprise storage systems.
• Monitor storage infrastructure performance and ensure system security and availability.
• Perform root cause analysis and resolve escalated incidents and alerts.
• Manage and coordinate regular system updates, patches, and maintenance activities.
• Implement and support Network Attached Storage (NAS) and Data Sharing solutions.
• Plan and execute Disaster Recovery (DR) strategies and procedures.
• Utilize cluster file systems to ensure redundancy and high availability.
• Work with vendor-neutral storage networking solutions and technologies.
Requirements:
- Candidates MUST HAVE a fully adjudicated Secret Clearance
- CompTIA Security+Ce
- 10 Years of IT Experience w proven experience in Storage Area Networking
- IAT Level III Certification (Securityx, CISSP, CISM, etc) *6 month waiver can be granted*
- B.S. Degree in Information Technology or STEM field
Additional Skills/Experience
- NetApp AFF
- Core experience with ONTAP 9.15
- Cabling systems, upgrading ONTAP versions
- Storage Protocols/SVM configuration: NFS
- Data Protection: SnapMirror, SnapVault, Fabric Pool
- System Manager, OnCommand Unified Manager, Active IQ Unified Manager
- Storage Provisioning of Aggrs, Vols, LUNs, RAID knowledge and configuration
- Data Migrations: VMs, CIFS, vol moves etc.
- NFS Export Policies
- Core networking and switch knowledge ensuring proper configurations with NetApp AFF
- Cisco UCS configuration and operations
- Troubleshooting storage access issues (i.e. CIFS access, lost datastore access,)
